What is the special cutaway? I don't see anything that looks much different from stock.

Nice guitar by the way, I love the new models. The new headstock looks really nice.

The cutaway has a bevel on it, very similar to an EBMM JP cutaway. If you look they took it RIGHT to the pickup, whereas when you look at stock ones you can see theres a bit more wood there.

I didn't pay attention to the name in the OP at first and I thought... "Damn that guitar looks familiar... Right down to the cutaway..."

Yeah I love the Ruby Red as well, I'm super happy with how it turned out. I was kinda nervous for a minute because I would see so many variations on the finish over at The Carvin Museum and didnt know how it was gonna turn out.

Flawless work by Carvin as always :hbang: Beautiful piece, congratulations! The only thing that really jumps out as not for me is how the paint comes to a dead stop on the back of the neck. May I ask what finish option you selected that led to that?

That's the tung oiled back of neck option, which imo opinion feels far superior to the finished neck. Plus it just looks sexy :agreed:

Would you compare the tung-oil to satin as far as speed moving up and down? Is it more of a natural, dry feel or more of an actual coat like gloss?

It's been quite awhile since I've played a satin neck to really compare, but yes I would say they feel similar. The neck feels incredibly smooth and fast, and I would definitely say it's more of a natural dry feel than a coat of gloss.
