I found this on an Australian retailer's website on clearance for $1,200AU, so about 2/3rds the usual $1,800AU price. I'm not really a fan of tele-style guitars, but it's a cute pink, I wanted a 6-string, it has 29 frets, and it's multiscale. My first 6-string in over a decade, actually - it's difficult to play because the lack of strings is throwing off my muscle memory.
Shell pink, alder body, rock maple neck, rock maple fretboard, stainless steel jumbo frets, luminlay side dots, Ormsby Hot Rock A8 bridge and Old School neck pickups, locking tuners, 3-way with push-pull. 25.5 to 27.5" multiscale. I have a pastel pink suede strap ready to go with it.
This is my third Ormsby (technically fifth as I'm waiting for two preorders next year). However, unlike the other two which were the more expensive premium models preordered direct from Ormsby with set up in Perth before shipping out to me, I grabbed this from a retailer and it's a standard GTR (Korean made, Australian QC). So I'll need to change the strings, but the setup is pretty good, just needs a little adjustment. The only difference is it seems the fret ends need a tiny bit of dressing. They're not sharp, but are a little noticeable. Cons of buying on clearance from a retailer instead of direct, I guess? Otherwise, everything is fine.
It plays well. The 25th to 27th frets are reasonable to play, with 28 and 29 being difficult. The neck joint is thick, but it's not a square, so there's space for my thumb on the neck when playing high (and the fret access is crazy good). Haven't had a chance to plug it in yet, but I have another guitar with the Hot Rock so it'll sound good.
I have Winspear 10.5-58 strings ready to go for drop C. It's a bit heavy for the scale length, but I'll be tuning the low C down to A and G. I'll fiddle around with the stock strings in standard tuning for a bit first, though.
