Well I have been GASsing for a quality 6 string for quite a while. And while I love 7s, I wasn't using mine to its full potential. So I decided to trade my 1527 for this little beauty here. Excuse the shit quality cell phone pictures.

It's an Ibanez RG1820XGK with the Dimarzio Crunchlab/Liquifire combo. Oddly enough, this is my first black guitar I've ever owned. And I've owned 9 Ibanez guitars. First impressions:
-I love the neck on this thing. Silky smooth.
-It actually arrived in better condition than I thought, which is always a plus.
-The CL/LF combo sounds awesome
-The finish is actually really cool. I expected a greenish black like the 7420 Black Pearls.
-The fretboard actually has a really cool grain, despite being rosewood.

I have yet to give the Piezos a workout, but that is soon to come. She's going to be tuned in Drop Bb with .056s. Blasphemy, right? Big thanks to Mendez, and I hope he enjoys the 1527 as much as I love this thing!

Also, Kane approves:

Nah, he's just getting into his old age. Still love him, though.

Classic NGD. Pictures of guitar wrapped, followed by pictures of guitar is case, then pictures of the guitar in in lawn, description of features, noting the details that left you with a pleasant surprise and how awesome the neck is, then close it out with a picture of your pet. That is the NGD formula done to perfection my friends.

Sweet axe.

Thanks, guys! I'm not home right now, but I'll check the serial when I get home. I do know that this was the last production Prestige with the Piezo system on it, and it was discontinued in '05. I don't have a trem bar for it, so I need to hit up Rich at IbanezRules. Or would it be cheaper to go straight to Ibanez?

those 1820xs are some of the nicest Ibanez guitars I've ever played. I love the finish, and I love the piezo. I may prever the RG620X a bit more, just because I'm not a huge fan of the ludicrously low-profile edge pro trem.

Thanks guys! I also have to correct myself. They were discontinued in '09. '05 was the first year they came out.
