Crazy down to the last game for the metro. Didn’t expect Caps to shut out the Bruins tonight, that’s the 2nd time this season they have done that.

Yeah unfortunately Detroit needs to lose to the Habs, the Caps need to lose to the Flyers, and the Pens need to beat the Islanders for the Pens to make it in.

Moral of the story: you can't wait until the last 10 games of the season to turn it on and expect to make the playoffs. What's going to be a bitch is if they miss it by one point since they hold the tiebreaker with the Caps and Detroit last I looked...

Caps make the playoffs on a EN goal in a tied game with over 3 to go. Craziest end to a season I think I have ever seen.

Yep that win ended any chance for the Pens

What makes it worse is the Pens are the only team Boston has beat in their last four games and that 2 points would have put them in. They lost to freaking Ottawa tonight ffs

It’s like nobody wanted to make the playoffs, but someone had to. Guess the Caps will be cannon fodder for the first round.

Pens were 7-1-2 in their last 10... they definitely wanted it. They also have 3 of their bottom 6 out in addition to Graves on D which ironically made the team much better.

It might be time for the league to rethink the points structure.

Hard to bet against the West this year.

Generally it is a very promising year for canadian teams, I will be happy to see any/all of them be successful. In the East I will be rooting for Florida and I can get behind Toronto if they go on a run (as long as it does not result in the cup). In the West I would be happy to see just about every team do well, except Vegas.

It might be time for the league to rethink the points structure.

I'm a fan of 3 points for regulation wins.

I am so burned out from the Pens inconsistency roller coaster I am not even sure how much of the playoffs I'll watch this year. That said probably Colorado.
