How does Gibson manage to fuck up their "top-tier" guitars so badly? They can't even make sure the tuning pegs are fucking aligned? Did they just let the CEO's kid go ham on this one and then say, "some dumbass'll buy it for $7.5k"?

Literally yes. There's bound to be somebody that wants to rock out, but can only do it with the appropriate brand name gear made from late 1950's era engineering.

Man at those prices those little mistakes are completely unacceptable. It'd be more understandable on an Epi or a cheap LP but not a fucking 7k$ LP.

It's being sold as a Demo. Since it's a M2M you're probably looking at around $2500 to $3500 off for those defects.

A lot of the Demo stuff are factory 2nds because someone oops'd and used the wrong template or jig on hardware installs, mixed up the wrong color, or otherwise did something that couldn't be reworked to "new". Some are just casualties of training new staff, or just plain "Monday/Friday" syndrome.

A decade ago this would have just hit the bandsaw, but now someone can grab it for like 30% off.

Mistakes happen, whether it's ESP using the wrong clip art as inlays, Jackson adding (or subtracting) a fret, BCR inlaying the even frets, PRS punching through the body when routing pickups, etc.

is this a new Forshage build? 😍😍😍😍

top would look much better with normal black/chrome colored hardware and pickups though...and inlays...
Salsa's busting my balls, I posted it in the GAS thread and he nicked it and brought it over here. It's a custom build a guy I found on Reverb sold a few months ago, built by this guy (https://reverb.com/shop/jeffs-gear-garage-502). Supposedly it was to be more in the Klein style, but I agree it looks more like a Forshage Orion. Pretty funky guitar nonetheless.

dude genuinely thanks for sharing this, his builds are super well-priced.

there's a guy here in the UK who has been making some Klein clones and selling them for around $1000, but the difference in quality, spec and attention to detail appears pretty high...

may have to message and get my own not-Klein/Forshage started

So $7200 for a B-stock? Sounds very authentic.
