I passed on a perfect 79 lpc in tobacco becuase first lpc had to be black. I dont regret it, but i wish i coulda done both haha.
That is niiiiiiice. I don't know why '79 is the year, but it is.Six weeks of tour and preoccupied with buying and playing other guitars, it’s been a while since I broke out the ‘79, so random appreciation post. This thing is a joy to play. Wish Gibson still made neck profiles like this.

Tri-burst is my favorite. Despite my gripes with Gibsons I'd love to get my hands on one of thoseI passed on a perfect 79 lpc in tobacco becuase first lpc had to be black. I dont regret it, but i wish i coulda done both haha.

$5 says if the setups were swapped your opinion would be tooI tried a $6,699 LPC today. Underwhelming to say the least. The $2,500 SG standard I tried was nicer and had better fretwork.
They're gorgeous but priced at least double what they should be.
Nah, if the fretwork was better and the fb wasn't so dry, it would've been an 'ok' LP. No chance in hell is that instrument even worth $2k. Realistically, it's a 1500-1800 instrument at best. No better than any of the older Epi LPCs.$5 says if the setups were swapped your opinion would be too
My local store has two 50s standards. One has a great setup one doesnt. Guess which I prefer lol
Gonna call shenanigans on poor fretwork and the rest of the post says a tonNah, if the fretwork was better and the fb wasn't so dry, it would've been an 'ok' LP. I went to the storied Ochanomizu street in Tokyo earlier. Randomly asked to try a 2011 Traditional, and god damn it felt GREAT. To think if it, the strings were some of the slinkiest I've felt on an LP. It felt like 10s and was in E standard. And so the high action didn't negate the playability one bit. It was airy and resonant too. Any chance how I can achieve this on my LPs other than waiting for 13 years for the wood to cure?$5 says if the setups were swapped your opinion would be too![]()

Theres topwrapping, raising the tailpiece so the strings clear the bridge, or lightning guitars angled bridge piece. Also it could have been 9-42, which I have recently tried and enjoyed. Raise tailpiece and 9-42 is my suggestion.I went to the storied Ochanomizu street in Tokyo earlier. Randomly asked to try a 2011 Traditional, and god damn it felt GREAT. No pics, the salesman would've screamed had I even attempted.
