Sure, we all know what happened to big guitar solos and bigger hair once the 90s rolled in, but the party didn't stop. I made a list of my favorite glam/hair albums released during the dark ages. Your mileage may vary and I probably have a few that I would switch out if I thought about it harder. I had a hard time leaving off Poison's Native Tongue (1993) and Mr. Big's Lean Into It (1991), but whatever. It is what it is. Steel Panther-approved.

1990 Extreme - Pornograffitti
1991 Bangalore Choir - On Target
1992 Warrant - Dog Eat Dog
1993 Winger - Pull
1994 Bang Tango - Love After Death
1995 Skid Row - Subhuman Race
1996 Mr. Big - Hey Man
1997 Whitesnake - Restless Heart
1998 Night Ranger - Seven
1999 Dokken - Erase The Slate

Wicked Sensation and Firehouse were 1990 too. Some might mention Stick It To Ya and Flesh & Blood also. The style might have been on it's last legs, but far from dead yet.
I didn't like Pull when it got released at all, but have realized it's genius at a later time. Some songs on that album are not just some of my fave songs from the band, but fave in general, like, in history of music. Winger are such awesome musicians writing complicated songs it isn't even real, how could they even be considered as poster boys for all that is wrong with the style is beyond me. Metallica making fun of them aged badly, as it turned out Winger are not posers at all(meaning they kept playing the same style they've always played, even when there was no money in it), while Metallica changed completely.

Pull is a killer album - probably Winger's best if you get right down to it. There are some bigger tracks elsewhere, but Pull is the complete package.

Bro, you can drop the glam metal flag and no one will fault you; first the Bang Tango thread and now this? Just let it go, no one is asking for it to come back.

Shun the non believer. Shun him.

Nothin But Trouble

Great album. The problem is that there were so many great albums that year and I had to go with the one that I listen to the most. I actually prefer it to Blue Murder but that is probably because there is less Tony Franklin all over it. I know how great he is, but fret-less bass sounds weird to me anywhere outside of Jaco playing fusion.

I'm not a glam metal dude, but my singer introduced me to this band and they're pretty darn good:

Hurricane's Slave To The Thrill is 90 - and still has a killer cover, but the Sea Hags were 89. Good stuff! I forgot about Hurricane when putting this list together, but I dunno that I could bump Extreme on my personal list. I spent way too much time trying to cop Nuno licks. That said, they were a killer band and Doug's playing on that album was top!

You know what, coach. I gotta get going. Me and my "loser" friends, you know, we gotta get Aerosmith tickets. Top priority of the summer. Oh, and coach, uh, I forgot. I might play ball but I will never sign that.

Placebo, often touted as having glam rock connections, released Placebo in 1996.

Also perhaps the only bridging factor between grunge/punk and glam.

I don't know whether it was well-received or if it's currently well-regarded, but I dug this track when it was new. It was actually the first CD I ever got, in the form of a single in a goody bag from an electronics show in '93, lol.
