Puppets and Mouth for War are staples for me. Right now I've been working on Tornado of Souls, Holy Wars, and Redneck so I've been playing those ad nauseam.

Riffs or Songs?

I rarely play anything that's not mine these days since I'm in demo mode lately, but sometimes I'll warm up with some of these.

1) Lamb of God - In Your Words (verse and chorus)
2) Pantera - Shattered (verse and chorus)
3) Vader - Impure (whole song)
4) Megadeth - Blackmail the Universe (whole song)
5) Meshuggah - Bleed (whole song)

Hallowed Be Thy Name
Queen of the Reich

These aren’t like my favorites of all time or anything, but these are a couple of riffs I enjoy playing nowadays

Overkill - Coma

I can't think of any other ones, I mostly play my own or improvised stuff, but Coma is one I often end up playing. It's pretty awesome.

Monkey Business (Skid Row)
Selling Jesus (Skunk Anansie)

But invariably, the first notes that tend to stumble out of my fingers, completely un/subconciously when I first flip on an amp with any amount of gain: the opening to "You Really Got Me" from Van Halen.

Master of Puppets - Metallica
That Was Just Your Life - Metallica
Guitars and Cadillac - Dwight Yoakam
Speed King - Deep Purple
Walk Away - James Gang (that's more chords than a riff, but I think it counts)

This will sound out of place, but 'Harder to Breathe' by Maroon 5. It's just so fun to lock into that funky groove.
