The majority of you that buy expensive boutique high gain amps - but use pedals in front to sculpt the tone - all sound exactly the same.

TLDR $3k Mezzabarba? You coulda had a 5150 for $800.

Literally just saw two 5150 combos for 500-800.

Here’s a list of Reverb recent transactions of 5150 and 5150-II heads:
Yeah I typed a lot of words but to sum it up, if you want one of these you're paying a lot more than 800:

The listings you see selling for less than 1200 look like this:

And by the way, the listing I got that image from is at 1100 right now

I’m not really looking for help finding one but this just illustrates the issue. I’ve been looking for about a year so I’m pretty up to date on current prices. The top one is 25% more than 800, in worse condition than I’d ever buy, and local only on the other side of the country. The bottom one isn’t even the same amp. Combos aren’t the same amp.

The $800 5150 heads are back in 2019 along with the $800 mkiii’s

Huh?

The top one is a block letter in decent condition. The bottom is an even better condition 5150-II. Neither are combos. And the Block Letter is OBO you could try for a 100 off and throw in a new tolex shell for what, $150 more?

I literally bought a block letter mint for 1200 6 mo ago and a friend bought a script for 800 in excellent condition within the last year.

Not enough people talk about Soilwork. They're pretty great.

Every couple of years I come back to them and their new stuff is somehow always kickass. For a band to release albums like The Living Infinite and A Whisp of the Atlantic after already releasing like 9 albums full of solid material is mind blowing to me.

A 5150 6l6 w/carbon copy and echoplex preamp is fantastic
