I'm sorry, I must've missed something. Can you please educate me, specifically, what could be interpreted as insurrection there? Even in the most mental gymnasticy way?

How much time you got?

I mean sure, but also, compared to what? The overall trend seems to be that it's becoming increasingly normalized for politicians to be disturbingly, unapologetically unhinged. It's not like the alternatives offer any reasonable standard of mental or emotional stability. Incoherent grandpa or emotionally unstable cheeto, pick your enemy's fighter 🤷‍♀️

For US inhabitants, what's the purpose about Kamala Harris?
She was supposed to be the disruptive, young, full of energy asset of Biden when he was elected.
The world is watching the 1st WW power presidential election (and the consequences at the international scale) between a 77yo revisionist, fake news addict and an 81 senile guy who is half dead.

She was never going to upset the establishment. All the hot air about her being a "marxist" etc was just that, she was ultimately an establishment pawn even to look at her own politics. We don't have anything remotely resembling a far-left political position in mainstream politics, by design. What "leftist" options we have are only so by comparison. All of the Democratic presidents since at least Clinton have been staunchly neoliberal center-right politicians when it comes down to their economic and foreign policies. Even Sanders is only center-left, and that's on a good day when he's not voting in favor of military occupations. We have a distorted, narrow selection of neoliberal center- and right-wing politicians who will always bow to the gods of empire and militarism. The result is as you say.

I never heard she was supposed to be a marxist. Except from her opponents. For sure she is part of the establishment such as the 2 major party candidates. They are all coming from the same prestigious high schools, same wealthy families, with the same disconnection with people.
What I am afraid of is the manipulation from Trump on History facts, geopolitical fragile equilibrium, non interventionism (after has messed up the world), wealth sharing, health reforms, protectionism despite international trade agreements, threats in diplomacy, extreme far right supporters, environmental skepticism...
By the way, I personally hate the man: misogynist, racist, greed, liar (not the only one) but its alternative truth is scaring me ...

I am particularly affraid of the international context and the global warming.
War in Ukraine, Israel, Yemen, Armenia, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Libya, Oman Gulf with Iran via Houthis militia, Soudan, Haiti, Guyana vs Venezuela, tensions against China and the US, Iran and the US, Russia and the US... With a Republican, US will leave rooms to dictators on these conflicts. With a Democrats, the US will assume their role with Bn USD and lives. Nevertheless without the US, Ukraine is lost and old Europe will collapse. The whole equilibrium of the world is threaten.

Considering global warning, Trump has proved his skepticism despite evidence and 40 years+ of research and scientific publications. Here again, the whole equilibrium of the world will be changed. Some countries are ruined and become impossible to live in. Starvation will be the next challenge such as missing fossil energies (more expensive to explore, to find, to burn and continuously polluting).

I will play some music to soften my stress.
Or try to do so.

Yeah it's stressful shit, I honestly try not to think about it too hard on the day-to-day. There's so little an individual can do to meaningfully impact the things you mention, it's easy to feel helpless/hopeless. I've been meaning to start volunteering more, there's a soup kitchen and a warming shelter (this is a scary place to be homeless in the winter) near my house.

I agree the Democrats are the least-worst, and I'd enjoy seeing someone like Harris win the presidency just for a change of pace (or maybe just a slowing of the pace), however small it might be. Obama was supposed to be that, though perhaps that was wishful thinking on our parts.

I never did vote for him, but I remember wishing I had shortly before I became completely disillusioned by his admin's numerous drone assassinations and mass deportations. He similarly never did become the Red Threat we were promised by his opposition, the real irony is that Trump's Covid stimmies were a more legitimately socialist program than the "Affordable" Care Act could ever hope to be. But here in the US, it's only socialism if we call it that, and then it's eEeEeEeViL

ACAB includes Harris

Never heard anyone claim she was a marxist aside from fox news nut jobs trying to rile up the right
I remember one of the big talking points when she was announced being that she spent her whole career putting people in jail for marijuana offenses and now she was flip-flopping to get on the Biden campaign, which advocates for legalization. They both feel like political snakes to me - it's Biden's fault the student loan situation is this bad in the first place.

I'm not a fan of our current white house. It is still better than Donnie "Putin please attack our NATO allies" Trump
