thats what i was thinking. the case alone makes up the price difference, but the seller was honest and told me that there was a big chunk taken out by the knob, so he bought it as a "B" grade, or whatever, so the actual value is lower. another con, i dont like tremolo. i like fixed bridge. i guess i could block it?

If it were about keeping the guitar, I’d take the RGA for $200, maybe $250 if I could play ahead of time. They make decent modding platforms.
Those Iron Labels were trash back then. But as you said, the case kinda makes up for it and you could probably get your money back selling the iron label.

I owned an Ibanez RGIR27FE. It was a decent guitar but I had to do some work to it (fret sprout and setup). I liked it and had it playing pretty well but ended up selling it. I'd go for the RGA myself.

Iron Label definitely a great deal. Other one just an ok one (the RGA742FM is just a $499 guitar when new).

I don't like carved/beveled bodies and not really into flame maple tops. I do prefer as much black as possible and no inlays, so the choice is pretty easy for me.

I believe the RGIR37BE would have cost roughly twice as much as the RGA742FM new, so I'd say you opted for the better deal.

A floating bridge can be blocked to behave like a fixed bridge, but a fixed bridge can't be made to float.

Assuming you're happy with active EMGs, the Iron Label comes with very good stock pickups. Plenty of people "upgrade" their pickups to the EMG 707 set.
Even if you prefer passive pickups, you would almost certainly have wanted to upgrade the stock Ibanez Quantum pickups in the RGA...taking the cost over what you paid for the Iron Label.
