    Terrible looking amp heads?

Hard disagree on this one - I honestly think the newer Butcher looks great

    The absolute WORST distortion pedals??

I think you can get a good tone from just about any pedal if you try hard enough. That said, my DOD Gunslinger is absolute crap and I wouldn't recommend one to anybody.

    Line 6 Helix Megathread - 2.80 update

I updated my Helix the night before this came out. While it doesn't take too long to do, it is a little tedious, especially when it rebuilds presets and all that jazz. I saw the announcement that the new firmware dropped and felt like this guy:

    Electro-Harmonix MIG50

I have one. I love this amp. I have a Mesa Roadster, a Sunn Model T, and a handbuilt Sunn clone, and the MIG is the one that gets the most playtime out of the bunch. It's very utilitarian in that it's just 2 inputs, a volume for each, a standard EQ section that doesn't do much, and a presence...

Some guitars are too funny not to post

I don't know why this guitar is in this thread. Seriously, if this was a 7 string I'd play it for every gig for the rest of time. Prog metal? Fuck yeah. Jazz? Send it. Twangy country? You bet. ABBA tribute group? You can count on it.

    New animals as leaders

The new track had me like: This intro is super cool - I wonder where the song's going to go with this kind of lead in? Oh, more thumping. Great. That's definitely not played out and a crutch for Tosin at this point, or anything. Hey, we're doing a guitar solo, now. Definitely no need to...

Some guitars are too funny not to post

I keep seeing this thing on my local CL and I can't get over the fact that they want a grand for a destroyed SG standard.

Dunable quietly announces an import series

My Cyclops came in today. Pics first: This thing is pretty sweet. It's admittedly been a while since I've played a "normal" guitar after having my Strandberg for the last 4 or so years, so it's a bit strange going back to a guitar with a headstock and resonating strings bast the bridge...

Has drumming in metal peaked long ago?

Peak Melivns Not super related to the thread, but I worked with this band once doing monitors. During soundcheck, their FOH engineer called for the kick, and this dude played doubles that fast for like 3 minutes straight (I have no idea why it took him so long to get the kick happy at FOH, it...

    Gear for atmospheric backup vocals?

It doesn't work that well. Source - I did this when I first got my Mel9 and wasn't a huge fan

This is a guitorgan. While it does looks ridiculous, it has a lot of switches and knobs for a reason. If you haven't heard one, check one out on youtube or something - they're wild!

    Gear for atmospheric backup vocals?

Something fun you can do if you're handy with a soldering iron is to get 2 DIs and add a female XLR jack to one of them in parallel to the male input. By doing this you can run a dynamic mic (you have to get tricky for phantom power if you want to use a condenser) into it, and then use the 1/4"...

I can't get over how they couldn't even polish off the fingerprints on the red burst Mustaine acoustic for the picture. Also, Fry-War-Lock guitar is 10/10.

    Short guitar straps

I'm in the same boat. I like to wear my guitar right up on my chest. My best luck has been having friends who can sew mod straps for me to get standard ones to the length I want.
