i am GASsing HARD for the RGAIX7U
i want this thing SO bad.
i have two of the prestige RGA121. by far my favorite instruments. simple, clean, classy, and mean. just like this thing, and it would look killer in my collection.
if only they would make a prestige RGA again..sigh
while i am not a fan of maple boards, this one looks classy. they should have used pale moon ebony to spice it up, but that's not going to happen anytime soon on a production ibby
nice guitar! the blue is gorgeous.
Must be my iPad then, cuz it totally looks like a mahogany brown, even in the photos above. Guitars look way better and often way different is person, though.
The high res photos do look better. Still needs a darker fingerboard, but that's my personal taste getting in the way I think.
I think it needs a darker fingerboard, but that's just my taste. I also think it looks a bit silly with 22 frets.
And it's brown.
But other than that I am sure it rips.
Edit: let me clarify that it's okay that it's brown. But brown with such a light fingerboard and gold hardware makes...
Hard tail is required. I dont like floating bridges. Not my thing.
I think I'm most excited about th coil tap and locking tuners.
I am still undecided. I think I want to pull the trigger and then I look at the doom purple prestige s seven string and sigh lol
So as a lover of the rga since its conception (I own two of the original prestige rga guitars), I have always wanted a seven string version. I have heard good things about the iron labels and some bad things. As an ibanez player that is used to the quality of prestige instruments (I own three)...
If there is no set screw you can take a polish cloth and slip it under the edges of the knob and use that to pull if off. I have done that many times working on guitars at my last job.
I would say that learning the notes on the fretboard in whatever tuning you want will be really really helpful, but not necessarily required. If you play an open position G chord on standard tuning and then play the same shape down a whole step, it will still sound good, but it will no longer be...
More like 2014 or a bit earlier, maybe 2013. I bought my s5528 back in 2014 and i was conspiring th six28 over the pr stage that I eventually went with.
couldn't agree more.the heel carving on the neck also looks odd for an S, and I have ever seen ibanez drill holes and have hardware for the team j craft stamp on the back of the headstock.
That scarf joint though.
