I focused this on the 5153 but I'm also running a Fryette power station with a Helix. It's honestly great I think I keep the 5153 around just because I'm enamoured with analogue. Does this change anyone's input? I've thought of going frfr with the helix but if anyone has any other suggestions...
Thanks for the advice haha but alas as is is the nature of these threads I might have more options than before. This seems like an under explored thing with guitarists unfortunately. Everyone has valuable input but no one has total experience. I think any option here is viable, including letting...
Ive been thinking of swapping out one of the v30s from my Mesa 2x12 for a while but have little experience on the issue. I'm running a 5153 50 watt and am looking for a modern metal tone. Some possible pairings would be a creamback or a swamp thang as far as I have read but the opinions of...
Based on what I'm seeing that should be right! Here's a somewhat relevant article I found by a guy from Budda, should put your mind at ease haha.

Hmm interesting, I dunno seems like you got everything handled. Usually the stereo is used for modulation. Think a jazz chorus. Get some sort of modulation pedal some reverb and delay and sound big!
Some amp hum is pretty normal, are you using a speaker cable or just a regular instrument cable? Do not use an instrument cable as a speaker cable! With an amp that size you might need to attenuate if you want to push the power tubes.
Your pics aren't working for me but From what I can google use 2 speaker cables, set the cab to stereo and set the amp to 16 ohms, Or use one cable set the cab to mono and the amp to 8 ohms. Being able to see the pictures would help I just looked real quick.
True that I don't think this is really marketed towards people willing to spend 1000 dollars on an amp to begin with haha. If I spend that much on an amp there is no way I'm getting anything that isn't reactive.
I don't own any bugera gear but I like the approach they take. I honestly think that some of the quality concerns are over blown as they have put a lot of effort into providing a lot of professional sounding gear at prices no one is offering. I have heard mostly positive things from the actual...
The LT has everything I need. your just not getting as many routing options and no scribble strips with the LT. Unless that stuff is important to you I woulds say get the LT.
I would look into the empress compressor. You can buy a scratch and dent one full warranty for 4 years for 200 usd directly from their site in Canada. I did this and got one with the most minor of paint flaws (literally just a ring from them screwing on the input jack). Saved 50 bucks usd. Not...
I always kind of looked at the switch as a sideways move to the wii u and a replacement to the 3ds. Unifying their mobile and home console gaming makes it so that Nintendo is going to be able to support the crap out of the switch. It becomes a lot more appealing if you look at it as a 3ds...
I have both. Based on what your saying I would say the switch would not disappoint you. It has breath of the wild and Mario kart 8 already. I would call them the best single player and local multiplayer games of the year. Third party support remains to be seen though there is promises of it...
I would start with what you have then worry about adding more after you've experimented a bit. You might want to look into a compressor or maybe a parametric eq instead of the 6 band to focus on certain frequencies. You might be content with what you already have coming though.
I did this when it was announced. The Helix LT is definitely the better bang for your buck in Canada. I am completely satisfied with it. It runs at $1350 CAD from Long and Mcquade and sounds the same as the $2000 full version.
