I generally play Elixirs since they last so much longer and feel smoother under my fingers (I know FastFret works for that too).
For me they're a good fit for guitars with Evertune bridges since I don't like changing the strings on them as much (more time-consuming vs a regular fixed bridge...
I had a similar problem: loved the amp, then it died. I brought it to my tech who said the board burned out and couldn't be replaced. I emailed Framus and they said I couldn't buy a replacement board. I emailed then called Warwick and they said the same thing. Massive waste of money. Lesson...
Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a Rio Grande 7 string bridge humbucker, preferably the Muy Grande, but I'm open to other models as well. Please post here or PM if interested. Thanks!
The Tech 21 Trademark 10 is a great little practice amp. Excellent value also. Over the years I've heard many compliments from other players who were surprised it sounded so good.
Thanks for the advice! I am very interested in the Fishman Fluences and may take the plunge, but like you mentioned I wondered which model I'd prefer. I wish we had a good guitar store around here where I could play some. I'll ask around and see if any local guys I know play the EMG 57/66-7...
Hey guys,
I done heaps of research but unfortunately do not have access to guitars with EMG X series or Fishman Fluence pickups.
I know this is a subjective question, but I'm about to order a Kiesel (with an Evertune bridge) and though I very much like the sound of EMG 707s at 18v, I didn't...
Thanks for the support, guys. Unfortunately it is a cold case. The detective thinks it was most likely kids from the nearby public housing who stole the gear (known burglars, active in my neighborhood), but there are no leads.
The craigslist sting made me re-evaluate some of my views on...
haha, you're funny man. Great post. The Thailand line was classic. I'll be interested to see your thoughts on the amp once you both spend more time with it. cheers
I'm really happy with my Barber pedals; I have the LTD v.2 and the Direct Drive LG. They are very quiet pedals and have an adjustable EQ, although you have to access trim pots inside the unit to change those settings. Plus they sound different at 9v and 18v, so you have even more available tones...
The Radial Switchbone JX2 is great. You won't have phase issues or ground loop hum with that pedal, plus it has a built in adjustable mid/clean boost. Your tone will sound more full than it would through a regular A/B box. As for the buttons on the pedal, you can switch between either head, or...
I'm working on it!
And thanks for recommending the TR in the first place; the one that was stolen from me was purchased from a forum member. I really miss my Recto, but this one looks like a great substitute. cheers
Thanks for the support guys. I'll report back on how the insurance claim goes. I have a good lead on the invaders already, as a piece of my gear is currently for sale on craigslist. But we'll see how it goes. I'm not particularly inspired by the law enforcement, but understand their perspective...
Hey guys last Thursday my house in Jacksonville FL was robbed while I was at work. I know the chances of recovering the gear are slim, but I figured I'd post what was lost anyway. I have serial numbers for almost everything. here we go:
Mesa Triple Rec with Ruby 6L6s (this one hurts). But...
Is your footswitch plugged in? I know this is a strange question (and your amp's troubles sound tube related anyway) but I have owned a 5150 for years without any problems-- as long as the footswitch is connected. Without it, after a while the volume drops off. Not sure why. Bizarre but not...
A mighty rig indeed! I'd be interested in your thoughts on the sonic differences between the two heads after you spend more time with your new addition. cheers
Good question about the saddles man, I was wondering the same thing. I'll ask him and see what he says.
Specs:
25 1/2" scale
Pao ferro fret board
Same neck profile as on my other KB (best neck I've ever played, can't over-praise it).
Cherry body, maple burl top, burl walnut back.
Neck is...
Ken Bebensee sent another batch of pics from the guitar he is building for me. He made the bridge himself (over 60 hours on it so far, he said) and there are BKP Holydivers under the pickup covers. Ken really likes the pickups and described them as clear and loud, and much brighter than the...
