I'm actually a huge fan of Vol 3. The songs are killer. The album has a great flow to it, its easy to listen to start to finish. I just think the mix is atrocious.
All Hope is Gone is an awesome album. I think it really gets a bad rap at times.
The last album was good, a couple of tunes caught...
One thing to keep in mind if you decide to get a Captor, is that they have fixed ohm values. If your amp is 8ohms you will need the 8 ohm version. For a simple solution at a reasonable price you almost can't beat them.
I agree. I think he is the best choice. He produced their albums from Kill to the new one. I think that gives him a leg up on learning the songs, as he may already be familiar with some of them. Not only that, but he's an insane guitar player.
My two 7's are standard, I have two 6's that are standard one of them is able to drop D easily. I have one 6 in open B (my Devy tuned, although I think he's c), one in D standard, and my one last 6 in B standard. my acoustics are all standard.
Jackson and Esp necks are my favorite. That said my Se's neck is the most comfortable neck of the guitars I own. So I guess that makes me a thin kinda guy.
Surfacing is such a well written album as is the one before it, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, which is the album I got into her with. The last couple haven't really captured my attention but those two are so good.
I really don't have any guilty pleasures, but my buddies give me shit for jamming...
Pretty standard Slipknot song. Seemed like the safe single to release first. I thought it was good, but am hoping for a little more aggression, not necessarily anger, from the rest of the album. A return to the the musical chaos of the Iowa days would be nice.
I came from an older version of pro tools to reaper. I couldn't imagine going back. Reaper was just so easy to pickup for me. I agree the plug ins are a little bland but they are very functional. Routing tracks is easy. There are a lot of resources online to help as well.
I like it alot. It has some really good stuff while there are other songs that will have to grow on me a bit. I'm a huge fan so I have no doubt that after some more times through, it will become another excellent addition to their catalog.
This news just bums me out a bit.
I was always a fan of Phil and Robb's playing since the Vio-lence days and was happy when Phil came on board during Ashes. They are one of the best live bands I have ever seen. I'll miss em if they are done for good.
I grabbed the Manny Marroquin reverb from waves not too long ago. I'm still messing with it a bit because I've had other things going on. So far I've messed with some guitars and ambient mics (I'm using SD2) on my drums.
It's not as advanced as say the H-verb is, but I'm getting good results...
