Haven’t seen anyone mention the PodGo yet. A lot of people overlook that unit since it’s not officially a Helix line product, but all of the sounds in the PodGo are identical to the Helix line. It just doesn’t have the horsepower the Helix stuff does. I’ve been gigging a PodGo since 2021 and...
Nice. I bought a JS22-7 Dinky for the same reason, to try a cheap 7 string. Ended up loving 7 string and that guitar. As others have said, it’s pretty solid for a $200 guitar. Looks like these might have the same neck on them, which is good. These should be fun guitars to hot rod!
So does this make them essentially what the Matt Heafy’s were? His were essentially Moderns with the 3rd split voice. The HF tilt feature was still there though. Kinda weird if they sell both moving forward, if they are the same.
I’ve got a JS22-7 (the Musicians Friend version with the gloss black body and maple fretboard) that I bought to mod, it’s great. Like you said, a little bit of initial setup and some upgrades and the thing plays awesome. Enjoy!
Man this thing is perfect! I had the opportunity a few years ago to buy essentially this exact guitar but in the M-1 body style, all else was identical to this V. I still regret not buying that guitar so much. Enjoy this one and keep taking pictures in front of that door!
The 256s are really great for the price (before they jumped up a bit). I’ve got a purple one and it’s every bit as good as other guitars I’ve got that were double the price or more. I find myself grabbing that guitar first when I want to learn new songs for some reason, so to your point I agree...
I had this same experience with 72 Seasons as well. As the first singles trickled out I was listening on my phone thinking “ok..not bad, not great”. I went to the listening party/movie in the theater the night before it released and hearing it over the theater sound system was a totally...
I think they are pretty close to each other. I’ve got a 6 string set that came in my Schecter Balsac sig and I bought the 7 string Matt Heafy set which is just the Moderns with his extra voice. Had the 6s first and when I got the 7s they sounded exactly how I expected. I think you’ll be good if...
Thanks! It is my first ATK and so far I’m really digging it. I’ve got 3 other basses and this really has its own sound to it. Pretty mean and gritty. I like it a lot!
Hey guys, just picked this up a couple days ago and wanted to share. I’d been keeping an eye on these ATKs online seeing what’s available and this one popped up at a Guitar Center 15 minutes from my house. Got it for a killer price. Apparently this particular model is a GC exclusive and was the...
Just saw the Rise Of The Machine tour last Saturday with Mushroom head, Dope, Fear Factory, and Static-X. That was a great show. Never been into Mushroom head but their set was good. FF with the new singer sounded pretty solid, band sounded great. Static-X sounded spot on. Hadn’t seen them...
I’ve got a bunch of 50’s and 60’s Zildjian/Avedis cymbals from my grandfather. He was a big band/jazz drummer back in the day and I ended up with alot of his gear. I’ve got a ‘64-‘65 Rogers kit with all the old Zildjians on it. They sound pretty deep/dark compared to a lot of the newer...
