Well I'm gonna sell my Ultra 120 head, it's just to loud to practise with and I'm also gonna sell my Spider combo to get a valve combo that I can use for practising and live.
So I'm looking for between 50-100 watts, it doesn't need to have a HUGE amount of gain, think for a maximum amount...
I sold off my Marshall Combo a while back because a) I wasn't in a gigging band and had no room for it in my (small) flat, and b) it sucked.
I'm currently ampless (other than my 2w micro marshall thing :hbang:)
Money's pretty tight at the moment (we're buying our first place) but I'm...
i am in desperate need of a new head, and i'd like some help in choosing the next head i get.
i play prog metal and i use a lot of weird voicings in a high gain setting. the thing is, my legacy loses a lot of definition when the gain gets turned up.
so i need: high gain, serious...
I'm a little confused about the power and pre amp thingy so could someone explain please?
Also whats the advantage of it over a normal head? (I'm talking tubes here, do power amp and pre amps use tubes or are they all SS?)
So many questions but I'm a curious little boy :agreed:
ok, i got tired of not being on the board since my surgery last week and i had this great question. i read about a lot of people using stand alone preamps and poweramps for their cabinets. why not just use a head that has both? greater tone flexibility? more watts going in? someone please...
