I'm a little drunk and this question just popped into my head. If you could magically be endowed with the abilities and knowledge of any guitarist, living or dead, who would it be? I'd probably pick some fusion guy I guess. Maybe Tony Macalpine? I don't know.

The absolute technical mastery and feel for the instrument just lets them play whatever they hear in their heads and it sounds so damn good because they can not only execute the technique aspects but making the phrasing and feel of the music so listenable.
