...And that's just about fucking tonewood. There were even questions about "where do I find Periphery tabs", "where do I find black hairbands".

He basically does not want to do any work figuring things out and experimenting himself, and wants people to tell him what is the best product and how to use it.

I retract my other answers, the greatest toanwood™ is bog oak from the time of the vikings, with a human femur bone nut to increase sustain and kvltness. Bonus points if you get an ornery brit with a fetish for chainmail and gothic calligraphy to make it for you.

Not to mention.

My stove broke and I can’t fix it to feed my family.

Followed by.

What should I get for my recording studio.

Followed by a ngd.

So until this guy proves he’s not a troll.

No need to give the guy too much of a hard time. Seriously, if you spend enough time online in guitar forums, there is the common affliction of insatiable GAS/gear-whoring one develops, but the dark side is analysis paralysis in the face of all of the options.

Also, the right answer is that wood doesn't matter as long as you have a Tune-o-Matic and remember to feed the strings so they wrap over the top of the tailpiece for more sustain.

Signature SSO forum guitar is a used Prestige and 99% of the time has a basswood body.

Tonewood debate isn't relevant anymore, nowadays everyone agrees that tone comes from finish.
Satin: more midrange, tighter low end
Gloss: warmer highs, looser bottom end.

There's like 30 different species of Basswood.

I'm sure some are super soft and junky, maybe used on entry level instruments.

But top end guitars that employ Basswood are using something different.

Basswood/Maple top has won over lots of guitar builders in the last decade or so. John Suhr speaks highly of this combo.

Mdf body, jello top
Ya see, the jello due to its low consistency allows the tone vibrations to be amplified and driven into the mdf where every wood chip within it resonates at an excelerated rate giving an angelic bell like vibrato to die (or kill) for.
