Couple of years ago my family and I ran into financial situation which caused me to have to sell the majority of my gear, much of those I loved and did not want to let go but had to. Fast forward to the present time, as my situation began to improve, I then began my hunt for an instrument that would act as a companion moving forward to pursue my musical passion. After taking quite some time going through the process of searching, changing my mind (deciding between Kiesel, Music Man, Ibanez), I decided that for my current need and budget, I concluded that I would settle for a UV777BK. However no matter how hard I tried, I just could not find "the one" even though my heart knew I wanted that particular model. The ones that I cam across either had very weak neck, defects at the nut, misaligned bridge, and through all these times trying to find that instrument in the condition that I found acceptable but couldn't, I decided to give up.

On the day that I decided to give up, I get a message from a stranger, telling me that he has an Apex 100 for sale and hes willing to let it go. I thought what the heck, I might as well go check it out and off I went that evening with literally zero expectation and as a result, this happened. Basically in mint condition, with the original U bar & tremel-no included, one of the most comfortable 7 necks I have ever put my hands on (I used to own a few 7s and in terms of Ibanez the 752FX & 2726 prestiges that I had cramped up my hands at times but for some reason this one felt very at home. Overall an unexpected turn of events with a silver lining. On a final note, I have this baby currently being set up with a tech, however, as I am still recovering financially I have yet to settle on an amp to properly test her out. Feel free to ask any questions and hope you all are having a great start to the weekend!

I always loved those. They remind me of Andy Timmons sig in a 7 string form.
Funny you should say that: when looking at the second thumbnail at first it looked to me like a Cruiser in the neck so I thought "prick OP even got a custom pickup made, prick"

If they made a Cruiser in 7 string that would be quite interesting. In fact i think the market is due for more options of a noiseless 7 string single coils!

Like the guitar but like the story even more.. Glad you were able to find "that one". Congratulations.
Glad you like the story! One thing that I did not mention that actually happened and I still found quite absurd & funny was that as soon as I agreed to the seller that I would take the instrument, I had two more new different sellers contact me that very same night to propose a UV777 that I was initially searching for. Had they contacted me just a day earlier, this Apex 100 would not be in my hands. Without trying to sound abit too out there, the universe (not the guitar model) does seem to have its unique way of helping us find what we really need vs what we really just want. I believe this goes true with the person we end up with in life, as well as our passion and vocations.

oh YES! I have never played one of these, but I was close to buying one a few years ago when a dealer had one left in stock and sod it for a good price. for some reason I didn't buy it. I do regret that now.
Those are among the best looking RG7s I have ever seen.

God, I've been looking for a used Apex 100 for ages now. It's my white whale.

Hmu if you want to sell it or trade for a J-custom 7 string.

Nice score! I remember when these came out, we all bitched about the black headstock. Now, i don't think it would look right without it.

Congrats!

That's really nice. I wonder if it's routed for HSH under the pickguard like a Universe
Ive never taken a look under personally, but previous owner said he never made any modifications to it, and i guess i take his word for it since the thing is in such a flawless state. Not a single nick, ding, scratch, frets still full and polished im surprised how it survived this long.

I’ve always loved the looks of these. I wish they still made them. Congrats! I think this and the OG K7 were my fav Korn sigs. I had one of the flat green TOM apex’s, I’m sure it couldn’t hold a candle to this.

Thanks brother! I remember those flat green ones! The OG K7 was one i always really wanted as a young teenager, one of my brothers friend had one and those also were monster guitars that had time and effort put into them. The interesting thing about the Apex 100 is the tri burst fade finish where in the pictures you cant really see the red thats in between the black and amber, which really stands out in real life!
