Pickups that track low end notes better/sound better when playing fast?

I found something recently that surprised me for how flippin' tight it is - and that was the Duncan Full Shred. That thing is goofily precise especially if you mag swap for a ceramic magnet.

If you took a thru neck guitar, found a way to chop the neck off, then bolt it back on, I bet you a million dollars you couldn’t hear a lick of difference in a blind test.

The idea that neck construction could help “tighten” your sound is silly.

Devil's advocate - why is this any sillier than the belief that neck construction does matter? I don't really have a horse in this race, but I would think that at least theoretically how the neck connects to the body could impact how the guitar resonates, which is at least a big part of how it sounds.
