Guys, what in the frig is going on with PRS CE24 prices?

On Reverb.ca the average rate for one is like $3.3k CAD. Is this what they are at now?
Has PRS just consistently gone up and up every year since I last checked? Are Core line guitars just like 6+k now?

Aye aye aye

If you check Reverb several times a day, with a little luck you can still find a Custom 22/24 for around $2k USD. I see one about once per week and they sell within an hour. They are usually older and might have dings, but $2k is a deal

Edit, just checked and there is a Mint 2007 Custom 24 10 top on there that posted yesterday for $2,995 USD. Fuzzy math says that’s around $5,300 CAD. So yea, I guess we are saying the same thing. My “help” wasn’t so helpful when considering exchange rates. Keep checking man, there are deals when you hawk Reverb and sort by “Newest.”

CEs should definitely be way cheaper than Custom 22/24s. Depending on age/condition, a used CE typically goes for $1300 to $2000 USD. $3300 CAD is just under $2500 USD, which is what they seem to be going for new nowadays.

Need a price check for buying and selling!

I've had an Ibanez S1520FB for sale on Facebook for $1000 shipped. It's in very good condition, includes OHSC, and has a nice set of aftermarket pickups from a small builder. A few people have commented and said it's a good deal, but I haven't gotten any serious bites. Is it too high, or do I just need to be patient?

I've also been looking at some Schecter 7 strings in my area. There's a KM7 Mk II for $720 near me and a C-7 Custom for $600 that includes a Boss OS-2 and PS-5. Are either of these good deals?

I think that's a fair price (assuming your definition of "very good condition" matches mine). However, I'd be very apprehensive about sending $1000 to a seller on Facebook Marketplace (no buyer protection), so would only buy if I could collect in-person. Perhaps that's put some people off.

Very good condition for me means that it's functionally perfect, set up well, frets polished, no tarnishing on the hardware, and only one minor ding on the back.

I've actually never messed with Facebook's payment system. I meant to say that I have it listed on Craigslist and FB Marketplace for local pickup, but I've also posted in a number of credible buy/sell groups. I guess I didn't explicitly offer PayPal Goods/Services in the post (of course I would be happy to do so if the buyer pays the fee), but no one has reached out to even ask, which has led me to question the price.

Reverb is king. Their fees are rough but that’s where the guitar selling world lives, and so most buyers search there most often. Deals can definitely be had on FB but buyers are reluctant unless it’s a local deal.

You could drop the ibanez price a little and even better take it to reverb.
Now, the KM7 Mk II sound nice, depending of its condition and the C-7 could be a little lower but given the fact that it also includes the OS-2 and the PS-5, which you can resell if you don't want them, sounds also good

What do you guys think a 1990 MIJ Jackson soloist professional pro in white is going for these days? Only mod is a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge. Ebony fretboard, MOP Jackson logo and shark fin inlays, Also comes with original case, one latch broken.

I see these MIJ Jacksons go for a wide range. If you're going for a quick sale you might struggle to get $500 but if you wait for the right buyer $800-1000 is plausible.

I don't know if we're talking about the same MIJ Jacksons, lol. You're seeing 90's MIJ Jackson Soloists for $500? There's no way....even $1000 seems off to me.

This is the ONLY one I can find for sale anywhere....and this is USA-level money....hence my confusion

You could always crawl big cities classifieds on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace or even Guitar Center's used listings to get a sense.

Reverb asking prices are often nonsensical, with sellers looking to dupe the ignorant. The truth is that MIJ Jacksons in general are fairly common and the 90s Soloists don't go for much more than their Dinky cousins.

Also it helps to consider comparables. "Buy an used Prestige" is a meme here, but for good reason. You'll be hard pressed to spend more than 1K on an used Prestige that has some mileage in it. Then there are tons of 90s MIJ RGs out there that can go for very little money. So why would a Jackson even cost more than a Prestige from the same era, let alone more than twice as much?

I'm lousy at used guitar prices, both buying and selling. Just got a new guitar, so an old one needs to go.

I've "upgraded" it with Carvin S60 single coils, Carvin (non-locking) tuners, chrome knobs, and I believe it has CTS pots, and Switchcraft jack, and I believe a Switchcraft switch.

The original pearloid pickguard was sort of greenish (but not in a "desirable vintagey" way) so I went with a custom pickguard and trem cavity cover with higher-quality 3-layer pieces from Pickguardian which cost me something like $115.

So here's where it's a bit funny, because all of those were ridiculous "upgrades" for such an inexpensive guitar.

This is a mid 2000's "Fender Starcaster" (one of the many times they've used that name on everything from semi-hollows to electronic drum kits). It was originally sold by Sam's Club (other color versions sold by Best Buy, Target, and Costco).

I got it for $60 used, because it played pretty well and I wanted a cheap guitar to experiment with for fretwork and electronics. Still even have the original pricetag.

And here's where it's funnier/sadder: I screwed up the wiring...and though I've tried 3 different times, I was never able to get it working correctly after the first week of ownership in 2013.

I never even peeled the protective plastic off of the custom-cut pickguard.

So in addition to a price suggestion (and I'm not delusional in thinking it's actually worth anywhere near what I paid for even just the parts)...do you think the back story and the history of how the guitar was originally sold and my misadventures add anything to it to help it sell? Does it add some fun "lore"?

Or would it be detrimental? Should it just say "Fender Starcaster. New electronics, wired incorrectly. Non-functional. As-is."

Comes with the Road Runner case (very Good condition), and two trem arms: black and white-tipped.

Anyone got any advice on a rough price to put this Jackson up for? It's a pro model made in Mexico, Seymour Duncan JB and 59, some small superficial marks, pointy headstock in good condition. The only real issue is the Floyd arm socket is cracked so I've had to put some plumbers tape round it to keep the arm tight. Cheers

Thoughts on the current value of a MIJ RG7421? I just picked this one up but the prospect of acquiring a white whale instrument is very high at the moment. It’s very clean minus a small paint chip in the body and some of the typical small things you’d see on a 20 year old guitar. It also has a professionally done strap button repair on the upper horn that’s rock solid and barely visible. It’s a limited run GC colour as well.

There are pictures of it in this thread here

What is a good price for my Baritele Partscaster? It's got an aftermarket body with some wear and tear, but it's solid flamed Walnut one piece body, Seymour Duncan pickups, and a Squier Baritone Custom neck. Love the guitar, but just moving it on for something new, I don't find the extra inch and a half worth the uncomfortableness of chords.

What is a good price?

Hey guys, just wanted to ask for your professional experience please with regard to a ernie ball majesty 6, which is from 2016 and which has a scratch on the neck (you can not feel it, only visible). As I have absolutely no experience with Ernie Ball instruments I’d like to know if 2.600 Euro is fine for a used majesty in very good condition expect for that scratch.

I always wanted to have a majesty in this finish, but I don’t want to rush this buying decision, if I could find a used majesty in better condition for this price…

I live in Germany and the Ernie Ball prices for new instruments are absolutely insane (>4-5k in EUR), so this looks like a fair deal.

What you guys think?

Thanks for your help, highly appreciated

Curious as to what people think is the going rate for a MIJ Jackson SLAT3-7 (with bound fretboard), gunmetal grey, basically mint with the original Jackson hard case?
