Nice one.

My friend has the same came model, and we ended up putting a Fluence brushed nickel set in it. Looks amazing but I did need to extend the radius in the corner of the routes because of the covers.
I'll have to keep that in mind. Actually thinking about an EMG 81-7/85-7 set because old KSE guitar tone is sick and I love it when pinch harmonics are as effortless as possible. But I might go with Fishmans. I suspect both will have the same issues to deal with.

Had to let this baby go this week.
Good looking, good quality guitar. Did not get too much playing time the last years, better to re-invest in something else.
I got to keep the sweet softshell case and still almost double price of what I bought it for.

I think I will look at at a new tube amp, but time will show.

@BabUShka How was the bass/mid/treb balance on that guitar? Always thought they were kick ass, but heard they tended to be monstrously dark.

Thats pretty correct. I think its too dark/bassy for my taste. I had a Nazul installed in it - this combo was a mismatch. Changed back to D Activator and that helped a lot.
Next time I'll look for a brighter sounding 7, perhaps a Prestige or Schecter Loomis.

Other than that, they are great quality guitars and comfortable to play - just too dark for my taste.

Congrats!

Seymour Duncan has actives and passives that would fit, what don't you like about the EMG?

HNGD!

I've got used Jackson Slattxmg3-7 in Slime Green.

Love this guitar, but i want to replace EMG 707 ASAP. It's just not for me.

Any pickup recommendation other than EMGs or Fishman Fluence?
Bare knuckle and Lundren do active size pickups. Duncan also through their custom shop, althought the waiting time could be pretty extreme, i’m sure Nick from axe palace could help you with that one. Also pretty sure Elysian and Instrumental can make that happen too if you wanna go that that route.

To be fair, i love EMG pickups. Especially EMG 57/66 set and 81.

But 707 in bridge? Pure mud. More work to tame the low end, and less playing. It's very difficult just to get an usable tone.

However i do find liking to 707 set in neck. Less shrill because of similar reason as above.

However, i decides to change into passive pickups. I already have 2 guitars fitted with Fishman Fluence, and battery cost will add overtime in future 😅.

I'm currently looking into custom pickup builder which can make soapbar sized pickups with reasonable price.

Mind you i'm not in US, so adds that to shipping and custom cost. One set of custom pickups is almost half of my paycheck
