Amogh Symphony is quite techy/proggy/spacey

Canvas Solaris, too, but more relax

Gigan is something you might really like

Heart of Cygnus' "Tales From Outer Space" EP - retro-prog/rock

Periphery, of course, but you knew it

Terrestrial Exiled, featuring R. Jarzombek, C. Muenzner, etc

The Universe Divide, from members of Canvas Solaris, with a more metal sound

This should keep you busy.

ZILTOID! THE OMNISCIENT!

Seriously though, Devin Townsend put some really spacey metal stuff on the "metal space opera" that is Ziltoid the Omniscient. I would suggest listening through the whole thing with an open mind, because it is very concept driven. But here is a taste...

Not really Djenty nor Technical, but here is some Space/Sludge/Stoner Metal band, called Kosmograd. Listen and enjoy the trip, man

Not the same at all, but Rosetta call themselves "Metal for Astronauts"

Not techy and djenty, but just great goddamn music!

i fully back this right here.

When people say space metal, i instantly think spacious music. Tech/prog/djent always feels like music for cyberspace :p

but as for space metal... I offer

and

Space rock? And no mention of Hawkwind?! You should all be ashamed. Lemmy is going to throw a fit!

EDIT: Whoops, didn't read the full OP. Vektor is probably not what you are interested in, but it is metal about space and sci-fi type stuff.
