Hey guys! I am currently working on two bands and I need suggestions for some songs to play. These are non metal bands, like, we play rock, jazz, blues and also some more popular songs. You know, entertainment for the general audience.. :scream:

Here are some of the ones we currently play:

Back from cali - slash
Joker and the thief - wolfmother
Battle for the sun - placebo
The pretender - foo fighters
Purple haze - jimi hendrix
Hey joe - jimi hendrix
Stairway to heaven - led
Like a stone - audioslave
Come as you are - nirvana
Slither - velvet revolver
Under the bridge - red hot chili peppers
Dani california -red hot chili peppers

Suggestions?

Band: drum, bass, both female and male vocals, 2 (or more) guitars, violin & piano (optional)

Thaanks!

I see you have violin and piano. Try to pull off some Arcade Fire:agreed:

The Cure - Love Song

You've got a big lineup, you could do some cool arrangements with synth lines played on violin or the like. My philosophy on cover songs is that you should bring something new to the song, not just try and ape the original. That, for me, is the difference between a kick-ass cover and a lame-ass bar rock band.

Try Outkast's "Hey Ya." That's a fun one. You could try some Blink-182; they can potentially be a big crowd pleaser, depending on the crowd of course

Tonight tonight by smashing pumpkins. The violin or even just keyboards could handle the orchestral parts and it might be interesting sung by a female.

Only one by yellowcard might do well, a little sappy but I actually love it as perfect little pop/rock ballad and it has a violin solo:hbang:
