Oh this thread is one of the most important here on SSO. Utter timeless metal class in everyone’s tastes. I condone to the fullest. I need to take newer pics but to contribute:

The purple sparkle SV looks sick af!

Fishman pickups are good and all, but the EMG Metalworks line just looks so fitting on guitars like that. I am so glad that the Arrow 7 that I got had the original 57-7/66-7 set in it.

That purple SV is so sick. Been debating on getting one, I just prefer the shorter lower horn of the japanese models.

I had an Ormsby Metal X, which was rad, but it moved on to acquire more ESP madness. But I also and forever will have the Schuldiner Stealth:

I still plan on nabbing a Jackson USA/CS Warrior, USA KV or Double Rhoads, an ESP EX or MX, and RIP Star Destroyers. The D3 Dime Slime is the white whale, but that may never happen with the way the market is. Pointy is the only way to go for Death Metal in my arrogant opinion.
That Daemoness is one of my all time, GOAT level favourite CS builds I’ve EVER seen. It’s a shame what’s happened to the company as I would trade my left nut for one.

Amazing. WHAT is that Explorer 7?? An actual KL 7? I simply must know!!
The Explorer is build by the same Dutch luthier who built my sevenstring ironbird. This was the first one he build me, about 15 years ago.

I started playing 7's in the early 90's and the UV7 was the only one around at that time. Never could gel with the way a strat style shape hang on my body having learned to play on ironbirds and a explorer. So i had been thinking of a 7 string shape for a while. Around 2009 i made some drawings in Adobe illustrator for a 7 string explorer. Taking the basic shape of an Edwards and modding it slightly. Some angles are a bit different and the points a little sharper. I had some difficulty finding a good headstock shape as the original explorer one got large and out of proportion to me. When seeing one of the Metallica vids i saw Hetfield playing his KL and thought that it might translate wel to a 3x4 so i did some research. Found out it was a Ken Lawrence. And found some pics of a russian knockoff in close up. Made a drawing in Illustrator and modified it to a 7 string headstock. The shape is probably not correct but it looks ok to me.After that i made a 1/1 design and had it build.

It is entirely handbuild. All routes are hand chisseld the old fashion way, as the luthier learned in the classic building school in Belgium. Some things are not as tight as CNC but it is an awesome guitar, as is the ironbird. Specs on both are largly the same. Swampash body, maple neck at an slight angle, rosewood board, Ibby LoPro, Blaze and Air-Norton pups, Kahler lock-nut with de string bar integrated, Sperzel tuners, Dunlop flushmount straplocks. The Explorer has a waterfal bubinga vineer and is semi translucent. Originally it was matte translucend grey but it got some shiny spots over the years. So last year i buffed the top to a shine.

*Could not find a recent shot of the headstock so i included an old one made with my pocket potatoo.
