Did it ever occur to either one of you that he enjoys what he does and just because he's capable of something "better" in your eyes that doesn't mean he wants to do any of that?

Btw having a networth of 120 mill doesn't mean he actually has 120 mill sitting in the bank..so again perhaps he'd rather make money instead of wasting time doing things that won't
I'd say that even if that's the case, him having a net worth of an amount anywhere near that means he's clearly at a level higher than the vast majority of citizens.

But if he wants to keep writing what he writes in spite of his talent, more power to him.

Totally! I will NOT buy a guitar with direct mount pickups.

I guess it's the djent kids' fault that they're so common?

It looks totally dumb. AND it's bad for functionality.
Unless I like the pickups that come stock in the guitar, I won't touch it. I like switching out pickups here and there, so rings just work way better for me. I have thought about installing rings over the pickup routes if there is a guitar that comes along that ticks all the other boxes though.

Idk I just thought it was a musical solo guitar piece
I wasn't so much commenting on the one piece, I just meant to say that country music by a good guitarist is still country music. It's very common, when I say I don't like country, for someone to jump in with "yeah, but what about [good guitarist who plays country]?" as if being a musician means that I must enjoy anything that's competently performed. And I don't. I dislike the genre because of the qualities of the genre, not because of a lack of skill in the bands. In the same way that I can acknowledge that a rapper might be very clever with their lyrics or something, but I still don't like rap - they're competent at their craft - but I don't enjoy the craft on the face of it.

Joe Bonamassa is a great guitarist, a good songwriter, and one of the best ambassadors for modern guitar-driven music.

That makes sense. But I also get asking because it could be like someone doesn't like metal because they've only ever heard shit like Five Finger Death Punch.

EVH is the first that I know of to popularize it. He wanted the pickups mounted to the wood in an unfinished cavity.

After reading some of the comments in here, I've got an actual unpopular opinion (and sincerely held) - country music is the best form of music to have ever been conceived. It's depth and breadth far outpace anything in other music forms in that it has genuinely incorporated all manner of musical innovation and contains the full range of emotional expression, political discourse and social commentary into a continuous, cohesive style that is strikingly diverse and yet undeniably country.

Where rock falls short with nothing left to rebel against, country comfortably occupies the "normal". Where popular music may tend towards vapid, meaningless drivel, country can turn to inspection of culture's darkest corners. Country is outlaw, it's conformist, it's big trucks and NASCAR, it's a solemn lament to God, it's calling for social justice, it's "kids ain't right these days", it's virtuosic musicianship, it's three chords over and over.

So yeah, TL;DR - country doesn't suck, you suck 😂😂😂

This might be one of the best music videos of all time.

No one can convince me that Nickelback's "Animals" isn't just a hard-rock ripoff of this song.

It's the same song, it just depends on what the chick looked like. That being said...been there done that, I pulled a Bo Duke, slid across my hood and went in through the window. Her stepdad was so impressed/Dukes of Hazzard fan he wasn't even mad, just impressed. I gotta give it to Mr. Drunk on a Plane.

To be fair, I can't think of anyone who has told me they "dislike metal" because of 5FDP who would be convinced by any "real metal" I would show them. It's not like they'd go "man, this 5FDP is too abrasive for me, but I sure could go for some Dying Fetus."

Eh, I was just trying to think of generic radio butt rock that is "metal". It seemed like a better idea for this forum than something like comparing Bone Thugs-n-Harmony to 6ix9ine

I think gatekeepers actually play a roll that's kind of important. Without gatekeepers everything would be a casual, shallow nightmare. Aren't gatekeepers sort of heroes in a way?

Gatekeeping has a very negative connotation to it but I think it can be done in a nice and helpful way. Like of course you can join in, just, if you're clueless try to learn and improve instead of ruining everything.

Nah, gatekeepers are pretty much always the ultimate posers (phone tried to correct to losers, I guess that’s accurate too lol) and don’t help or contribute to scenes in the slightest
