To my understanding, they're identical in terms of what they can do (they're both 4P5T switches), but it isn't immediately obvious which set of lugs corresponds between the two. To make schematic translation easier, anyone know how to easily compare these?
Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: What it says in the title, really. This is a full thickness Eclipse style guitar - so yeah, it's basically a Les Paul. It's currently set up for Drop Bb with 12-60 strings. The pickups are BKP Ragnaroks - and the guitar sounds mean as hell with them...
This one's a NAMM special - I bought it off the show floor. These amps are mostly high gain channel switching monsters, so I'll go over what it's got. It's got a dedicated clean channel with its own separate preamp, and two overdrive channels with identical modes.
The modes are:
1.Lead, the most...
Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: This is a Rev G Dual Rectifier from the 1999. Killer amp, I just have a KSR on the way that I need to pay for. No tolex dings that I can find. Cleaned the tube sockets and pots two days prior to posting, they all operate great. I'm able to ship with...
Looking for something a bit less overbearingly bright and harsh than the Black Winters currently in my MH400. I'm aiming for something a bit more classic sounding, a bit less hot... more mid focused overall.
If not the VHII, than what? Crawler? Black Dog? Something else I haven't considered?
Some of you may have been following my build thread - but the build is complete. Paid my balance and took her home today.
This, my friends, is an Equilibrium FT6.
Here are the specs:
Black Limba body
Master grade Quilt Maple top with deep cobalt blue stain
25.5" scale Wenge/Flame Maple 5...
Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: Essentially brand new Charvel DK24 HH FR. Kick-ass guitar, really stunning for the money. Like new condition overall. Offloading to pay for a custom guitar.
Modifications (if any): Swapped the bridge pickup magnet for a ceramic, but I can swap the...
After playing the import Charvels a bunch at NAMM and being incredibly impressed with how freakin' good they are... I figured I'd buy one. ProAudioStar was doing their "used, but actually new in box" sales on ebay, and I had a $100 coupon... How could I say no for $599?
So, I bought one, and...
I have a Charvel DK24 (HH, FR) coming in tomorrow - alder body, maple neck and board, floyd rose. I'm not a fan of the stock pickups, especially the bridge pickup, at all - the Full Shred has this cocked wah weirdness, and the jazz is just OK (and let's be honest, white on satin black is just a...
I came back from the gym and this had showed up today. Made working out worth it!
The box... a simple affair. Plain old cardboard with a nice looking logo on it.
The packing job... Not bad, but could be better.
Some nice box goodies - a pretty quality sticker and a very nice Winspear pick...
Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: Near mint 1991 Mark IVa head. Bought it a month ago, haven't used it much and it deserves to be used. That said, fantastic amplifier and in absolutely astoundingly good shape for a 27+ year old amp. Tolex is completely pristine, corner protectors are...
Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: Bone stock Jet City JCA100H. This was supposed to be a JCA100LTD with the appropriate 1K screen resistors for EL34s, but it has 470 ohm for 6L6s. Pristine condition - I've had it in my studio for a month. I just don't really use it for anything...
I've been jonesing for a Mark series for a while - how else am I gonna get those prime Metallica tones™? So when a Mark IVa came up for sale, I couldn't say no. $1175 later, and it showed up in much better condition than I expected! Essentially pristine. I've done a few days of tube rolling and...
$350 for a 100 watt head? Can't go wrong there. Amp Factory (JC's direct to consumer site) was blowing JCA 100 LTDs (JCA100Hs, but with EL34s) out for $350 over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. How could my inner amp whore resist?
Anyway... It showed up today.
So for a quick review...
Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: Mesa Dual Rec, Rev G. Roughly the first 1000 made (S/N R-003863 which corresponds to 1994), and oddly enough it has some "Rev F-isms" about it. It has an attached power cord, a small logo, and a ground polarity switch. My later Rev G has none of...
How do people feel about this speaker? I just recently sold one of the V30s out of my cab because it was way too presence-y for my sound. I'm looking at replacing it with a K100 for a bit less overbearing "ZING".
Is the K100 the right option, or is there something else I should be looking at?
Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: I need to offset the recto I just bought, and I find I play sixes a lot more than sevens. Killer guitar though - Definitely the best Ibanez 7 I've ever owned and honestly I like it more than the ESP NT7 I used to own. Excellent condition (couldn't...
A band I'm working with on a record wanted a really big fat rhythm guitar sound. This of course didn't help my mad amp GAS... So I caved and this showed up today:
A Mesa Dual Rectifier solo, Revision G. Serial in the 12,000s, so 1995. Absolutely stellar shape considering it's as old as I am...
Looking to replace the Chinese V30s in my Jet City 2x12 (unbelievably fizzy and honestly not all that tight)... I know the Governor is Eminence's take on the V30 but it seems to be less spiky and harsh in the presence region, and the low end seems tighter.
The CV75 also caught my ear from demos...
