I've had my Ironball for years (traded for a Line 6 DT 25 combo can you believe it?) it's an awesome amp and probably the fave ENGL that I have owned. Owned PB, FB 60 and 100 in the past. Well made sounds amazing.....used it in a D\m/ band with another guitarist who used a 120 Triple X...
Honestly this is the first video/sounds that has impressed me. Before that I was scratching my head..........other than Kyle's rep and people that use his amps thinking meh so what....I'm still really curious on how the Apex stacks up vs this one. I like the options the Apex brings vs 2 channels...
I picked up a minty used Tremonti for 480. Incredible amp for the tone and money. Super tight and responsive it has a little rectoish thickness to me. Very happy with the thing fun to play :)
Awesome........my Ironball did better in a band mix as well........the Mesa is just overall better sounding....I bet those PRS kill.........I do love me some Powerball II channel 3 tho :)

Was all about ordering one as well.......that was until I tried out the RevV G3 pedal. It's enough for me but I have always been a little obsessed with the Herbert tone in trying out a couple in the stores. A nice economic way to somewhat have that tone....seems pretty cool. Would love to try...
Wow that's good to know. It isn't a deal break for recording as it wouldn't be needed (2 amps) but that's good info. I'm still interested in a stomp "maybe" but I am going to stick to the Mooer Preamp Live and my HX. Sounds like I'm not missing out on a lot.
The SLO module sounds killer. I swore off modular amps after my experience with Randall MTS but there really seems a lot of varience in the tones of the preamps. With Randall there were some similarities in all the modules not as drastic in some cases..
It sounds like you a saying “jewel rectifier”? Anyway at first listen alot sound very similar as they appear to be dialed in the same but the positive grid does sound very buzzy and digital. Going back a second time to review them it seems the amount of perceived gain is higher on some like the...
