Actually I simply explained to the guys in my order that this would be my first custom and that I would prefer a lighter grain of walnut. I guess they were feeling generous.
Thanks for all the compliments guys, the guitar is a ....ing dream to play, stainless steel frets are really smooth and the guitar is very bright and percussive. I think I will throw a calibrated set of BKP Warpigs in there just to add a little bite to the axe. The Carvin PUPs are nice and...
Thanks very much man, the only thing I'm not completely ecstatic about is those pickups, they're too undefined when I do anything technical on the low end.
My first custom build, Carvin is ....ing impressive. It only took a month and a half to get to my door. The craftsmanship is immense.
Swamp ash body
Maple core
Claro walnut top (sex)
5-piece maple & mahogany neck
Bird's eye maple fret-board
Extraneous erotic materials
I'm going to...
Yeah, I think I'll enjoy what I've thrown together, besides, I'll have it in less than two months from now!
Also, if I do replace the pickups I would either end up putting in a Nailbomb set or a Blackhawk in the bridge and a Liquifire in the neck. :shred:
I've been fiddling around with options for months now, I will--in fact--be able to afford one in roughly 2 weeks and I have since been bombarded with the burden of all of Carvin's options.
Aesthetically, I'm going for a slightly more classical look, AAAA quilt top with a clear gloss finish...
It's true because things like this actually happen...
Who would even think it's okay for a "professional" guitar company to make mistakes like that on guitars that are several thousands of dollars in cost?
Both of those companies have fallen off the deep end with their quality control...
