yeah I'm admittedly a newcomer to the bass world as well, relatively speaking. I've been doing it about 3 years now. That just seems to be what works best for me, but I'm also admittedly not the strongest finger style player so that just comes more naturally to me. Like stated above though by...
I actually do two things for this, 1 I run an ISP decimator in my chain to help alleviate any unwanted carried out noise when trying to mute, bumping strings etc. Then for picking technique i'll definitely use a pick, and will use both hands to mute when trying to get a nice tight sound. Kinda...
I was down to the 4x10 of this and the Hartke HyDrive 4x10 and though I went Hartke, these cabs sounded fantastic as well and are a solid buy for sure. Congrats!
The schecter stiletto studio series is great. I have the 6 and they can be had for sub $500 easily used. For Tracking along side a 7 string, agree with the others. Definitely go at least 5, the 6 I personally like though cause you have the low end and the versatility to do higher chords and...
Hey peeps!
I figure you all could answer this a lot faster for me. Would a 4 string set with a .110 low string be sufficient for drop C? an Ibanez SR405 I believe it is just for reference
Thanks guys, appreciate any input! :hbang:
I have a Schecter Damien Platinum 8 that is a fantastic guitar and only cost me about $500 used in new condition. I could easily recommend that. I also got a chance to play a 2014 era Schecter Blackjack C-8. it was an amazing guitar and the Seymour Duncan Nazgul Sentient set sounded awesome. The...
I've never gotten a chance to try multiscale yet, i'd be interested to see how big a difference there is playability wise. But I listened to that tone clip yesterday on FB, thing sounds amazing. I'd love to know what rig setup you're running it through too. HNGD!!
Though I have never played the fretless version, I have one of these basses fretted, and it is an awesome instrument, I would second this vote for sure. Plus it just looks gorgeous in the honey satin color with that bubinga top :-)
EDIT: Also, I picked mine up used for $312 USD out the door in...
the neck on my Damien platinum 8 I find to be very comfortable. playing it in comparison to a Ibanez RG8, the Ibanez is slightly thinner, but nothing I would say that is noteworthy. I believe the DE has the Thin C profile
I use a little 25W Ampeg combo and it actually can give some really nice tones, especially on the higher register stuff. I think I paid maybe all of $100 or less for it on sale at GC? Been worth every penny
Edit: I wanna say it's the B108 model (or something like that)
If you're looking at lightweight, definitely check out the Hartke HyDrive Cabs. They can be had for much cheaper and I was considering both that and the GK Neo cabs and they both sound great, but the HyDrive cabs can handle more load and are way easier to find cheap, especially used. Solid buy
