JP70 Pickup Wiring and other obvious info

Do you really need “proper reference”? The whole point of this post is to just help out a few people that need information that isn’t really available elsewhere. Really niche target with this post

JP70 Pickup Wiring and other obvious info

There isn't much around about these pups in terms of information. I'm just going by what I figured out wiring them up myself and what little information I did find. I can throw together a diagram if that suits your needs, wiring up the JP70 stock pups to a simple 3-way switch, volume and tone...

JP70 Pickup Wiring and other obvious info

If anyone else really gets anything out of this, it'll shock me a bit, but eh. Figured I'd dump it here because information can indeed be useful

JP70 Pickup Wiring and other obvious info

I bought a used set for my JS22-7 as a cheap upgrade and they sound absolutely killer. I searched around the net a fair bit, peeped images hard, and eventually figured out how these stock pickups were wired. The bridge pickup, labelled R, the red wire is the hot lead, while the blue and the...

    JP70 Pickups

I know this is an age old thread, but I'm going to leave this here for future reference for anyone else looking how to do this. F is indeed the neck and R is the bridge. I discovered that the pickups are opposites, lmao. The bridge, pickup R, the red wire is the hot lead, while the blue and the...

    NGD- Jackson JS22-7 DKA M

I couldn't be happier with the finish for the price. Neck and fretboard look awesome and the gloss black is much better than the paint on my SG. There’s a couple small things that bother me, but it’s nothing that hinders playability or anything.

    NGD- Jackson JS22-7 DKA M

Heard that one a fair bit. The neck is really comfortable, but the longer scale length and flatter radius are gonna take me some getting used to haha. Gotta take care of some of the sharp fret edges, but there aren’t any that are too horrible with it. Came set up with nice action and intonation...

    NGD- Jackson JS22-7 DKA M

Welp, after a while I decided to bite the bullet on the Jackson JS22-7 after I failed to find any decent examples of an Ibanez RG 7 string in the price range. Either way, I'm happy with the purchase and I'm hype to do some work on this thing. It's my first 7 and I'm looking forward to...

    Jackson JS22-7 with Hipshot-style bridge?

Finally got it in, and what do ya know lol. Same bridge as the JS32-7. All the brand new JS22-7 satin black models seem to have the regular bridge, all the ones at guitar center I saw at least.

    Jackson JS22-7 with Hipshot-style bridge?

Damn Guitar Center is screwing me, lol. Ordered it Monday night and they haven't even sent me another confirmation email with a tracking number and have so far ignored a support email. Top notch cutomer service, lmao. I'd be perfectly fine with them not shipping it out yet thanks to some delay...

    Jackson JS22-7 with Hipshot-style bridge?

Wouldn’t shock me if they just started sharing parts between the JS32-7 to keep stuff cheaper. Bodies are pretty much identical except for the finishes and tops available. Mine should be in by the end of the week, pretty dang excited for it.

    Jackson JS22-7 with Hipshot-style bridge?

Also, sorry for the double post, but when did you buy yours and did you buy it used or new? I've seen a couple of the DKA-M models for sale used with the Hipshot style and the regular bridge, and judging off the condition I think the hipshot style is newer? No idea. Either way I want that better...

    Jackson JS22-7 with Hipshot-style bridge?

Novel is no issue. Good info. For the amount of people that own these, you’d think there’d be some better documentation on them, lol. I’ll report on what bridge I get when I order mine.

    Jackson JS22-7 with Hipshot-style bridge?

Howdy! I've been looking at these Jacksons, and I've noticed something interesting. It seems that the majority of the "Special Edition" (gloss black and maple fretboard) versions of this guitar have what appears to be the same Hipshot style bridge as the JS32, but none of the advertising images...

    No-one plays guitar anymore?

That's really the only reason I joined. My knowledge of theory grew because I had to teach myself to read music and keep up with a large band, instead of just the usual church stuff I was doing with a couple other folks. Definitely got better at improvising because I got to do some solos and...

    No-one plays guitar anymore?

As a current student, I think a big issue with music education is the lack of interest in certain genres. In the modern American high school, the only band one could join to learn a guitar/bass in would be Jazz band, which isn’t even common in most American schools. I mean let’s face it- NO...

Good Price For an Ibanez RG7321? Should I Get One?

All the pictures of it are blurry so i can’t exactly see much wrong with it. I’m gonna call the guy as soon as I can and try to scoop up some more info on it. Definitely gonna hop on it though, haha. Not much non-country playing guitarists in my area, and definitely not much with the chops to...

    little budget guitar hack!

Just thought about trying to use some of these that I have sitting around for this the other day. Definitely a lot better than spending like $30 on some damn FretWrapz or whatever the hell they’re called

I’m gonna try to grab it as soon as I can. Payday on Friday, I’ll consider it a little birthday present for myself haha.
