Anecdotally, just looking at the artist drop off from their roster the last few years lends credence to the idea that something has been off for a while. That’s not really news though.

For anyone still curious about this totally real and not highly fictionalized "news story"...

This Stay Metal Ray guy delisted the video above and posted a followup:

tl;dw "I wanna do a better job, an updated version of that video to explain myself and explain the news story and really just... kinda just do my best to make a better video, for lack of a better description"

Translation: "I jumped the gun on a rumor for clout so now I'm gonna walk it back"

^ With everyone monetizing the Internet, you have a moral and ethical responsibility when choosing to click articles and videos. That guy isn't getting a click. It has little to do with his content and mostly to do with that horrendous tee-shirt.

In the last 24 hours, a couple other outlets have posted articles, but all of them seem to either cite the All That Shreds Article or this one: https://guitar.com/news/industry-ne...nson-sued-mother-allegedly-embezzling-420000/

I'd say the veracity of the Guitar magazine article is a hundred times more than what we'd seen before, and it seems to confirm the previous articles. I myself, reached out to Armadillo, simply to ask if Evan was still the CEO, more than a week ago, and they would not answer, which I thought was strange, but wasn't 100% sure what to make of that (at that point, I assumed the story was fake and they would just laugh and say he was).

He definitely embraced the Youtube thumbnail/title clickbait, reaction etc. hole. I like him when he just does like, gear demos or lessons and don't watch these kinds of videos of his, so don't know if that's a new low for him, but I'm disappointed either way.

Hey, I like the shirt. It's the sole redeeming feature.
I only put myself through watching it to see how he walked it back, of course. For science. While I'll always stand by the ideal that independent re

Interesting, and good to see some actual journalism on it. I knew the lawsuit was real - that's easy enough to look up. I don't fully believe he's been removed as CEO entirely, that's likely a temporary measure until the suit is sorted, but I guess time will tell.

Yeah, that could be. But:
Guitar magazine said:
While there has been no official statement from Dean Guitars regarding this, Evan Rubinson has confirmed to Guitar.com that he is no longer the CEO of Dean/Armadillo.
to me, seems to softly imply that he's either stepped down or been removed as CEO.

Lol, things are getting juicy for this website

Interesting they don't deny this fact: former Dean Guitars/Armadillo COO arrested and convicted of child pornography

What the fuck is going on at Armadillo?

So apparently this ended up being pretty legit in the end? lol
Still trying to figure out how some shitty clickbait website got the scoop first.

Lots of people seem to like Ray. For some reason, I can’t stand him. I think it’s his face. Something about him looks extra douchey
Nah man you're right, its that fake smile laugh thing he does "ehhehh" with a big cheesy smile. We get it, man. You're trying to be aloof and cool and laid back and chill but no, you're being pretty douchey.

Still thought it was weird how he kept bringing up his navy history for no reason in his JST rant.

In all fairness, that's more the fault of YouTube. If you want to make money then you pretty much HAVE to do that stuff. Thumbnails, titles, viral content, having your personality/brain - that's the game. If you have a video that doesn't do well, YouTube will reduce recommending your videos to others. If you don't upload frequently, YouTube will stop recommending your videos. That's why so many "Sunday with Ola", "FAQ Fridays" etc which are just time-wasting, low-effort 10:05 long videos. So Ray is just getting better at playing the YouTube game, which unfortunately yes makes everybody into a douche.

Dean Z could be courted back by Armadillo. He's already onboard with Rita for a new line of Dime guitars so it makes perfect sense to bring him back.
Is this happening? Is Dean Z already working on the new line of Dime guitars?
