Obsession with hardcore has long passed me by 15-20 years ago, but still dip into the well some. Loved melodic hardcore and the bands influenced by 80s youth crew. Straightedge for life--or in hindsight, only until I turned 22.
This thread needs more Bane praise! I had a stagedive competition at a Bane concert with a friend. I hit at least 12 in the set. Those shows were nuts, and very illegal from a fire code perspective packing in. Pre-Great White days.

Also loved Champion from Seattle; saw them in a basement in Syracuse with less than 20 people. Stay Gold opened, who was also really good:
Actually, loved most stuff that hit Bridge9 records at that time. This genre needed more 7 string and solos, but I guess the accessibility due to simplicity is what created the charm.
