This is how everyone who thinks Focus is better than TiA sounds to me
But Focus is better than TiA…
TiA is great though, don’t get me wrong. Focus is just an all timer.

Cynic still exist? Man that's sad
Yeah look maybe it's just me, but if most of the members aren't there I don't want to see it. I'm not into any of those acts you listed and I'd rather go see a tribute band at that point anyway. If you mean sad that it's carried on without the Sean's, then yes, I completely agree. I do think it was inevitable though given the state of things like this now days: ie. Pantera with only Phil, In Flames with no original members, Sepultura with no Cavalera's, Van Halen with no... Van Halen.
There is a big enough fan base out there who wants to see Cynic and you know what? I'm fine with it. Brandon, Mike, Max, and Matt are all great musicians with their own huge impact on the genre outside of Cynic so I really could not imagine a better group of people to play the material.
I do think Malone and Reinert are irreplaceable and have left a huge void to fill in the world, and perhaps Cynic shouldn't have continued without them, but the people in their stead are at least the best they could possibly get.
Yeah, Steffen from Obscura was doing the growls and he wasn't off book yet. He missed a few cues, but it seemed like he was more caught up with watching Cynic to be honest.Saw a little clip of them performing and it sounded great. What I thought was very weird was they had one of the guys from the touring package doing the screamed vocals and he literally read the lyrics off a sheet of paper on the stage. Looked super odd!

I was at the Glasgow show the other night, it felt half like a beautiful tribute and half a contractual obligation.Cynic were excellent last night! Glad to have seen them and got to share a quick chat with Paul.
I was welling up during Integral. Just a beautiful and very respectful show.
Agreed. It's what got me into them back in the day.But Focus is better than TiA…
