First tape - Iron Maiden - A Real Live One(when I was 4)
First CD - Iron Maiden - The X Factor(we didn't get a CD player until about then)
First vinyl - Iron Maiden or Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, can't remember.

Yeah, I used to be a huge Iron Maiden fanboy when I was a little kid :) I still enjoy their music, but I don't listen that much to them anymore. But they showed me onto the path of metal, and for that I will always love them.

First metal thing i ever bought was Slayer's Decade of Aggression.

Which reminds me...

My first few albums, cassettes, and CDs were very non-metal. My seconds, however?

Album: Black Sabbath - Vol. 4

Cassette:
Ratt - Out of the Cellar

CD:
Slayer - Diabolus in Music, then Fear Factory - Obsolete, then White Zombie - La Sexorcisto

Tape - Cannibal Corpse eaten back to life. I was young and it looked scary. Funny thing is it scarred the shit out of me listening to it. Some kid convinced me Satan was trying to talk to me through the music. I laugh at it now.

CD - 311 blue album I just loved "all mixed up"

Vinyl - Currently do not own any. I've almost purchased one a few time. I don't see the point because I don't have a record player.

Ace Frehley's KISS solo album on cassette. I also bought Peter Criss' at the same time but Ace's was far superior and left a much greater impact (I still love it today). I bought them in the early 80's so I was probably about 8 or 9 years old. Of course, both Ace and Peter were out of KISS by then but I didn't care. It was KISS!!!

I didn't get a CD player until x-mas of 91 and also received a fair amount of CDs to go with it. I don't remember all of what I got but it was right when the whole "grunge" thing was picking up. I seem to remember some Nirvana, L7, and Mudhoney.

I can't be entirely sure, but I think the first CD I bought was Rage Against the Machine's The Battle Of Los Angeles.
Still love that album.
