Figured this'd be the best forum I'm on the ask about this. I've been playing guitar since 2004 and never really had this issue but recently when I play my fingertips have been splitting. It hurts like crazy and it seems like the only way to stop it from happening is by not playing guitar, which...
Pretty much all my guits are Ibbys and have aftermarket pickups. The only pickups I've had to route for were EMG 707s and they're huge :P If blackouts fit in my S7 you shouldn't have any trouble fitting any other SD pickups. As far as pickup choices, I'd reccomend a crunchlab/liquifire setup.
I have a 20th in DY and an '87 Roadflare 550 and they're fairly similar. I'd have to say the '87 is a little better as far as tone and feel are concerned (the neck is thinner/it sounds beastly) but the 20th is built rock solid.
Sorry for the necrobump, I didn't look at this thread for a while and just saw all the interest in the red guit. It's a 7620 that I had a local guy refinish. I actually just sold it recently to a guy on this forum XD

Having owned the Jap S7420 and the Korean S7320 (the 22 fret version of the current S7) I'd say the old school ones are way better, the neck is way comfier, the wood is nicer, better overall feel. I also paid less than half of what I paid for the Korean one for my Jap one.
