Well, my upgrades were successful. For anyone that cares, the Tight-End bridge will not simultaneously cover the existing bridge mounting holes and provide adequate intonation adjustment, but it does have the correct string spacing in relation to the Fixed Bridge from Ibanez. Thankfully, I...
Thank you! I thought it was pretty weird and cool that the faux lines on the wings that are a part of the natural grain ended up providing the visual harmony that transformed the center line into something one would want. The general look sort of reminded me of some obscure corner of a Giger...
Can anyone tell me (in mm) the distance between the center of the mounting screws on the latest version of the Ibanez RGA42FM bridge? I have a few Ibanez Tight-End bridges laying around and am hoping its footprint would completely cover the stock bolt pattern (and I would die of joy if it was...
The goal of a radial neck pocket is to increase surface area without increasing footprint. There's also an increase in stability and if it's cut properly a dependable alignment.
Read the short section on 3D Neck Coupling here and also study some of the CAD renderings you'll find on the site. It...
I don't see this particular bevel as 'trendy' ... it serves as the arm bevel and is totally ergonomic in keeping with the overall intention of the design. It then goes on to visually harmonize with the upper bout, completing that arc. As a guitar designer, I find that a very nice...
Personally, I kind of like the overall impact of the finish. It has a worn in but elegant look that appeals to me. The darkness around the edge of the bevels looks cool, imo. The back looks nice, too.
I wouldn't put much money into dressing this up with the apparent flaws. But that's just me...
Seems like a lot of air in that neck pocket on all three sides...and the string ferrule holes are haphazard, too. How much did he charge you for this, if you don't mind me asking?
This is free and is more accurate than most hardware tuners, approaching the resolution of an analog strobe tuner. But you have to install Java to use it:

You might consider Aluminium metal leaf and then a clear coat. Copper leaf would look great, too.

I like your guitar and your work ethic!
Get a quality pair of rasps (a courser one and a fine one) from France, either the Auriou or Liogier brands. Cheap rasps are so inferior and you just don't realize it until you use a great one just how much difference there is. If you are a natural sculptor, the nicer ones will really serve you...
I think with a Hipshot you'd be better off in terms of weight and ease of installation. But that design is pretty cool because it allows you some options for the bridge design and materials.
My adopted sister is Honduran. She is fairly light skinned in winter. She'll tan dramatically in an afternoon if she walked around in the sun on a golf course, and if someone took a photo of her during such a time, it would stand in contrast to her baseline skin tone. Like any sunburn or sun...
