What guitars kinda cop the general aesthetic and tonal vibe? Kinda that thick LP sound and a Trem but not a traditional LP shape. Maybe EVH Wolfgang? EBMM Sabre?

Don't have a ton of experience with these types of guitars, but I think the construction is something to consider. Something like ESP or Schecter carved tops probably are more similar.

^ Oh yeah, PRS too, especially with the single cuts if you specifically want that look.

So, I mean, a Superstrat is supposed to be a cross between a Les Paul and a Strat, in the first place.

Tough question to answer, though, because it depends on your priorities here. A Peavey/EVH Wolfgang is definitely on the list, if what you want is a LP-scale 24.75" shorter scale neck, two humbuckers, and a trem. If on the other hand you want a 25.5" strat-scale neck, maybe some of the ESP LP-style singlecut guitars with thinner shreddier necks and trems? If you want something singlecut but not a classic LP shape, and in between, PRS is worth a nod here too.

But if you want a "thick LP sound" sut superstrat appointments, either looking for some sort of mahogany bodied superstrat (Ibanes S-series? Jackson?) with PAF-style pickups would be an option, or look for a superstrat with pickups designed to get that sort of sound out of a non-mahogany guitar - the Dimarzio Tone Zone is popular for this use.

Maybe a Kramer Nightswan? Mahogany body and 24.75 scale length like a Gibson, plus the Floyd is non-recessed so sits higher on the guitar body with a similar height as a tune-o-matic bridge.

My mahogany Jackson Soloist can quite get into that hefty Les Paul sound. But it's still sort of not there, you know? Nothing like a good short-scale Les Paul with a maple top that has some spank and bite that goes with the big sonic footprint.

PRS is the closest.

Maybe spec a Warmoth Strat with some LP-esque specs and a 24.75'' conversion neck?

Otherwise yeah, the closest thing is a PRS 594. And even then it's pushing the definition of a Superstrat.

I've had a few that encapsulate both over the years. ie-

The custom builds take after the shape more directly, yes. But there's some other 'under-the-hood' stuff that's more in line with superstrats vs the more common specs one would find in an LP.

I agree about the scale length. Also, I would avoid any alder based guitars (not wanting to start a debate).

The first guitar that came to my mind is the Kramer Nightswan (if you can find a good one). Second guitar that came to my mind is the LTD (EII) EX. You'll have to pull out the EMGs though.
