Hey everyone, I've had my HD for about 2 months and I adore it! Bobo's guide really helped me learn the ins and outs of this thing, however I still have a few questions, mainly to do with recording.
1. I read the comments about HD to interface and latency/quality. I've currently got a UX1 that...
Love Death, Chuck, and Control Denied. I'm not sure what the greatest metal album ever is, but TSOP is definitely a top contender. Chuck and Hetfield are by far my two biggest influences. I honestly think that Chuck should get a lot more respect than he does. In my mind, he was more important to...
As someone who's collection as consisted mostly of Washburns for years, and as someone who currently own two WM24s, I am super excited to Washburn finally trying to get back into the game. If these things play anywhere NEAR as good as a WM24, then I am signed up. I've always wanted a 7/8 version...
About the Metallica thing, I love most of what they've done. Granted Load/Reload/St.Anger doesn't get as many spins as the older stuff and DM, it's still mostly enjoyable. The problem with Metallica is that when people rate Metallica, they're not relating them to other bands, which is normally...
Thought of another one. Black Label Society and anything to do with Zakk Wylde. His early stuff with Ozzy was awesome and so was his solo stuff and early Black Label, but after Mafia, everything went to shit. It's like he lost all inspiration. It's a shame, too, because his country/metal style...
In my opinion Pantera bottomed out pretty bad. After Far Beyond Driven, their last two records were full stuff that was just strange and droning. Most of it sounded like musical rambling with a few gems here and there.
I always thought that it was funny that Van Halen's signature amp became one of the de facto amps for extreme metal. Also, I think the Seymour Duncan JB was at one time Jeff Beck's signature pickup as far as I can remember. Then, there's Vai's 7 string. We all know where that went.
Thanks. That's what I like about that tuning. I enjoy tuning down but at the same time, I also want to maintain clarity. I've got a 7 for lower stuff, but it may be on its way out the door, so I'm toying around with altered tuning. All of the drop tunings are in 4ths on the higher strings...
Hey fellow SevenStringers. I've been playing around lately with several new tunings(for me) and I'm somewhat at a stand still about which one I like better. I've played around with about 4 different tunings. There are things I like about each one, but I just can't decide. I was wondering if...
I'm pulling for a middle ground between Traced In Air and Focus. I love aspects of both, and if they managed to pull the best from both, it'd be incredible.
Agreed. If you listen to most recorded guitars, by themselves they sound somewhat tiny. A good relationship between the bass and the guitar is what makes them huge. I tend to split the bass between two channels:one clean and one dirt. The clean will contain most of the bass's low end while the...
Eh, I'm not surprised. With Guitar World, it was either going to be him, Dime, Jimi or Zakk. Those three get more coverage it seems than just about anybody, and honestly what MORE could be said/learned about Jimi or Dime? Also Wylde hasn't done anything decent since 2004(whenever Mafia came out)...
Wow...that sounds pretty nuts. I had no idea what was the deal and I have to say, I'm not dissapointed, lol. Shame, I always enjoyed the pics of his guitars.
Hi, I was looking around in old threads and noticed that a luthier who used to be pretty prominent on here isn't mentioned by name more. I was around when he still was, but I took a break from ss.org for a while and after I came back he had been banned and no one will say his name? I was just...
