For the delayed sound, turn the unit on before turning on your computer. Otherwise it may not recognize it as being on and plugged in right away.
If the problem with the audio is only happening in your speakers, they could be the problem, the cord connecting them to your unit could be a...
First SG and Gibson!
I love the shape, it's nice and light and balances really well.
As much as I love this thing... I still love my teles!
Also thanks dudes.
The lack of a pickguard is a blessing and a curse. I was at one point thinking of modding this thing, Zappa style. But I'm not...
Vocals are buried as stated above.
The organ sound isn't pleasant to me. Needs to be wider and have a bit more of the frequency spectrum. More lows to be specific.
I do like the track from a musical perspective, can't wait to hear it finished!
Mix wise,
Something needs to be done about the vocals. They lack clarity and high end. I find the vocals unpleasant for this reason alone. I like the singing, but the lack of mids and highs ruins them for me.
Kick could use a little more weight, everything else sounds good though
Honestly the pickups were the reason I got this thing! I love the 490R/T combo. If they were uncovered I woulda gone with a tele actually... Pairs perfectly with my Mesa Stiletto Deuce. I should do the nad for that soon
Been a while since I've posted here, but I feel like this is a worthy comeback post.
I started working at Long & McQuade (Canada's equivalent of GC), and on my second day, after staring at guitars all day long, I bought a used Gibson.
Here's a link to the all of the photos...
Bring oiut the china a little bit more, it's a little soft
On the flipside, pull 1k out of the hats to soften them up a bit. I think they're a little harsh (obviously subjective)
I dig it though.
Mind if I ask how you're processing the drums (I'll send a PM)
This feels like a demo.
The cymbals are overpowering during the verses. Take out a little bit of 15k on the hats, soften them up a little bit.
The toms sound a bit muffled and lack clarity, mostly the lower toms.
The guitar tones for the most part sound like demo tones. They need some...
Thanks all!
Absolutely loving this guitar, been playing it lots in the last while. Strung it up with 11' and it plays much better.
The EMG passive pickups are pretty lame, I'm really not a fan of how the handle distortion in this axe at least. I'm thinking I might throw a set of Duncan...
Hey all, long time since I've posted, glad to be back though. Been busy with school, but managed to get my hands on a new axe.
Picked up an Ibanez AGS83B-ATF.
Specs:
3pc. maple/mahogany set-in neck
Flamed maple top/ sides/back body
22 large frets
Bound rosewood fingerboard
ART1...
That would also be cool!
Strange, his Triple Tele (three humbucker version) is Alder as well though haha.
Also, took this axe into Long & McQuade, they're ordering me a full replacement.. Possible 3 week wait time, which sucks, but this new one is coming straight from Fender, and not another...
The Jim Root Tele is also amazing. The JR is getting EMGs and this one is getting D Activators at some point.
I'm not sure, but I believe that it came with a warranty, and I shouldn't have to pay for it. If I do, I'll be slightly annoyed.
It's a really great guitar other than those issues...
So my parents hooked me up with another guitar for Christmas.
This bad ............ right here:
Squier J5 Tele in Frost Gold
Pics First. Review and Sounds after.
Long and McQuade shipped this from British Columbia to Ontario, and managed to break the toggle switch clean in half, rendering...
The Dream Theater DVD is ....ing phenomenal, jealous of Floyd!
I myself got a new axe, some candy, grocery money, iTunes card, and an Indigo (Chapters) card
More videos from the classes engineer dude... Yay..
I like how Rob Scallon at least attempts to use the full range of the 9 string in his song the OP posted. I'm interested to see where he goes with it in the future though, some of his stuff is top notch
So my birthday was on Monday (Dec 22, yay for late birthdays !), and my parents went above and beyond and got me something I've always wanted.
A Jim Root Tele.
I've been gassing over this guitar for years, and I finally have one. It may be a Squier, but goddamn, this thing is a tank. Review...
Notebooks and whiteboards are the shit man. I know a couple of studio owners/producers/engineers that still rock whiteboards.
I myself still use a whiteboard when I have multiple tracks that need work
