Quick search brought up that Yvette uses Kyser capos.

"...I use their capos because they actually work great on my 7 string Strandberg neck..."
Thanks again for the encouragement, everyone!
I put together a guitar playthrough video for this song. Check it out!
I didn't really have any experience with video or being in front of a camera before this, so we'll add that to the list of my new endeavors!
It's lots of fun and really...
I'm digging the little gag for the bass break.
Incorporating silly, musically relevantbits like that is a fun idea and I think it definitely enhances the overall aesthetic and reinforces the song. Keep it up!
Thank you!
I have been playing around for a few years with recording, so it isn't exactly my "first" recording, but rather it is the first time I've really overcome myself and pushed to be able to call something adequately finished.
Nobody really talks about the mental/emotional aspects of how...
You guys are making me feel really good about myself!
I've spent way too much time being nervous about sharing and figuring that nobody would care.
I'm glad you could still enjoy the actual song for what it is! My main goal was for people not to write it off as trash after hearing just a...
Yep, pretty sure it's all pretty much just your basic major scale. However, there may be a few sections that don't stay completely obeying major and it definitely changes to a different key for a couple of riffs.
I'm not exactly a theory wizard or anything, but I try my best to get a good...
Thanks for the kind words! :D
The world needs more smiles on more faces!
Halo, it's actually really good feedback to hear that you think there's room for vocals in what I would already consider a fairly densely arranged song.
I would really look forward to working with vocals in the future!
Hey guys! :wavey:
I've been on the forum for a few years now, keeping pretty quiet. (I'm the guy you'll never ever need to say "lurk moar" too.) Anyway, I've lately been trying to make some moves with getting my music out into the world and making some new friends with it, so I figured that...
Have you tried TuxGuitar? It's really straightforward and actually might sound a little bit like Mario Kart. I've been able to run it just fine one some really unimpressive computers, so I doubt there would be problems with it slowing down.
The program free to download, so you might as well try...
If you specifically wanted to maintain the drop D tuning on the first six strings, yeah, adding an A on the seventh like ADADGBE would be a totally viable option if you ask me.
Wow, this looks fantastic on paper. There is nothing about it that I look at and think "if only it didn't have ___..." Hopefully they sound and play great in practice and not just in theory! Definitely keeping my eye on this.
Fret spacings should be increased by about 4% if you were to compare a 25.5" scale to 26.5", so the lower frets would gain more length than the higher ones.
(26.5)/(25.5)=1.039, AKA about 104%. As the scale length increases, the frets should be proportionately the same distances apart...
I nearly always play with the guitar over my left leg. I find that classical position gives all around better posture in my back, shoulders, and wrists, which is especially important to me, having pretty bad tendonitis. This position is healthier, less damaging to my wrists and hands, and makes...
