    Pickups similar to Fusion Edge?

I'm getting an Ibanez RGDIX7MPB soon and I want to put in white pickups for aesthetic reasons. However, I have heard that the stock Fusion Edge pups are really nice, and I kind of want to keep them or something similar in the guitar. Unfortunately, it seems that Dimarzio does not offer these...

Recording with an Axe Fx II

So you could record a regular acoustic guitar that way by just plugging a mic into the axe? Thanks, wasn't sure if you could do that

Recording with an Axe Fx II

Thanks. Have you tried to record acoustic at all with it?

Recording with an Axe Fx II

Hey, so I really want to start recording sometime soon so I'm looking into better gear and recording equipment and I just wanted some clarity on how it works using the axe fx as an audio interface. From what I understand it connects via USB to your computer and takes both the output and raw...

If you could only have 4 pedals...

I think the ones that are showing up most often here, the "average" top 4, seem to be overdrive, delay, reverb, and a gate. Interesting

If you could only have 4 pedals...

If you could only have 4 pedals, not including a tuner, footswitch or power supply, what would they be?

    What pedals do I need?

Also, keep in mind this will function first and foremost as a gigging board. For studio I can always throw a few more pedals in the chain and / or eventually throw together a bigger, more comprehensive pedalboard for studio. As for the actual board, I am most likely going to get a Pedaltrain...

    What pedals do I need?

So, would I need a compressor for a sort of instrumental shred type tone (ala Satriani for example)? Would having one make legato / tapping smoother, or pinch harmonics easier? Or would there be enough natural compression already from the gain on the amp, maybe using an attenuator, and a drive...

    What pedals do I need?

Thanks for the recommendations on the overdrive, gate and power supply. The reason I may not get a reverb (for now) is because my amp has spring reverb built in, and its also just not my favorite effect, or a huge priority for me (I like delay better).

    What pedals do I need?

This looks interesting, but I think I would rather build a "real" pedalboard instead of multifx, at least right now.

    What pedals do I need?

I'm in the process of building my first real pedalboard. I want it to be relatively small, and portable, so that it's convenient to take with me, be it to band practice, a gig, or if need be on a plane. Nothing too complicated, I don't want to get lost in tons of effects and switches. So it...

    Should I sell my guitar?

Maybe he has a classical and a steel string? Or one is an acoustic-electric and the other is a beater? Personally, I would keep the JP and save up, as others have said. But I love JP's

    NGD: Chapman Ghost Fret

Yay, I'm glad this all worked out. They are good guitars, so I'm glad the company handled this well. Faith restored!

    Recommend Delay Pedals

OTT = just a lot of delay. Basically I want a pedal that could do as extreme delay as I could ever need.

    Recommend Delay Pedals

I'm looking for a nice delay pedal for lead. Something that can go really subtle or really over the top. Don't care if its digital vs analog. Basically, just recommend me your favorite delay pedals! Thanks! Oh, and try to keep it in the sub $150 range, I don't want to spend too much on one pedal...

Ernie Ball - Match the Master Contest

I would enter but I'm also not eligible, plus I haven't been playing very long and I probably wouldn't win. If they did this again in a couple years, I would enter and have a shot.

New Dream Theater song - The Gift of Music

I love it. It's definitely a 'different' album, a little less heavy and more operatic or orchestral, but it works. It is a very strong album as far as JLB's vocals, the piano is very strong, the story is decent (though its a bit sappy. We want blood!) and the melodies are super catchy. Can't...

    NGD: Chapman Ghost Fret

You think so? I am still in the "they probably are recovering from NAMM, etc, will get around to it pretty soon" camp, but this is starting to make me lose respect for the brand if all of these misadvertised parts aren't what they say they are. I hope they have a good excuse for this...

    NGD: Chapman Ghost Fret

They probably will. They have been on tour in the West Coast doing publicity for the brand, and then at NAMM for the duration of this controversy / issue. They haven't had time to respond in any way about this, they probably don't even know about it yet. I don't think Chappers would try to...
