You can replace a Floyd with a Kahler fairly easily with an adapter plate BUT you can't replace a Kahler with a Floyd - unless you route the shit out of your guitar.
A Kahler Hybrid would only set you back $160 or so. Or $20 less for a blemished unit, which usually have very minor cosmetic flaws that are barely visible.
For the price, you really are getting both a trem and a hardtail. No trem system is as versatile as a Kahler cam-operated one, IMO.
Head...
How did the CS allow you to build that?
Based on what I've read at the JCF, Jackson CS won't even think about doing anything close to 'artist spec' ie a King V with a Kahler fixed bridge (even a trem, for that matter as the bridges can be swapped easily).
Based on my experience and from what I've read, the factory of origin is more important than the country of origin. Of course, this varies from company to company.
China made stuff these days > Older China made stuff that gave China made stuff a bad reputation
Wow, that's neat. Congrats on rebuilding your rig (and your life, based on what you said in your original post!).
I wish Jackson would expand their Warrior line to include something like this. Hmm...
Anyone here take creatine? I just ordered a jar of Creakong by Mutant and I want to see if my body accepts it. I've done the same with protein shakes and it helped me pinpoint what works and what doesn't (MuscleTech's Mass Tech works the best for me).
What should I look out for, apart from...
That black abalone binding just ruins it for me.

I've toyed with the idea but I suck at painting... Anyway, I have used plastic EMG-style covers for passive pickups and they work like a charm. White ones would be great for painting, assuming you've sanded them first.
