I find that bolt-ons sound a little snappier, and that neck-thru guitars sound a little more dull. This is purely based one my experience with guitars and basses. I'm sure there are many exceptions.
Personally, I prefer bolt-ons.
I find their singlecuts to be very awkward looking. Perhaps it's the 24 frets shoving the neck pickup back a couple inches. Very off balance, aesthetically. All of these guitars remind me of the Kramers musicyo were putting out about 6/7 years ago. Save for that star. That thing is pure charvel...
I absolutely love mine. It's my favourite guitar by far. Of course, I bought it for the single coils. If you're looking for humbucker tones, then obviously it's not gonna work for you.
It has an amazingly clear sound. I'm a fingerstyle player, so the definition in the lower register is a huge...
Texans are awesome. I love mine to death.
Rio Grande does make seven string singles, but no one really makes a true tele bridge in seven string. The good news is that you can always get them rewound.
When I bought more new guitars than used, it really bothered me. I remember I sold my second guitar because of a string of dents left by a small chain.
Now that I buy more used ones, I could really care less. That being said, I'm a pretty gentle dude, and I play sitting down, so they rarely...
I sold my Fender american standard after I bought my t-7. The guitar is pretty close to perfect for me, being that I love single coils, wide necks and flat fingerboards. If you want a decently priced seven string tele, it's pretty much your only option.
It even gets a very aggressive metal tone...
Mostly just picking up CDs my friends recommended or grabbing ones that looked cool in store. I remember picking up Master of Puppets because a record store employee wrote "MoP: possibly the best metal album of all time!" and I really wanted to hear metal at that age. Of course, this was...
LGM is a real company. I thought they had gone under, but rumour has it Patrick Sims (who made his name, good or bad, making RG copies all the live-long day) owns the rights now.
A quick google search for this guitar came up with this thread:
LGM Guitars - Scorpion, Python, Dragon & Leviathan...
Please, please satin.
Obviously this is my opinion, but it always feels like a waste of exotic woods to cover it in gloss. With awesome wood like that, I would even want an oiled finish oil so I could actually feel it. Gloss reminds me of a coffee table.
But I'm sure it'd look cool either way.
A decent mix?!!! Discernible melodies?!!! These things are neither tr00 nor kvlt!
Joking aside, I've seen a few people react this way to this video. It's sad that most early black metal is plagued by such primitive recording. It's definitely part of the genre, but really held it back from a lot...
