I am not saying you do, just that I happen to be one. :ugh: I'd really rather not make an issue out of it - we obviously don't agree, and I am just sounding like a douche so I'll just stop giving advice now and let people figure it out on thier own...
By that logic my strings should be popping out every 5 seconds...oh wait, they are not  You can apply plenty of force with the short end to clamp the string - and I only suggest using the short end as the lever as it merely helps those who are little overzealous when it comes to...
I answered some similar problems regarding 0.080" string slippage in this thread, may be useful to you...rather than repeat myself, here is a link:

Not so much that 'it' has broken, more like 'you' have broken it - it takes a fair amount of force over and above what is required to tighten the screw to shear it off like that. There is such a thing as overtightening when it comes to threads.
The urge to overtighten the screw can be avoided...
You shouldn't have to swap out pickups in a $4300 guitar. Simple as that. From the look of the pic they are just 808s...if they are 808X then that's another story I guess. But bog standard pickups-that-people-complain-about-and-pay-extra-to-replace 808s??? People will complain, and they have...
...sorry bro, not being hostile or disrespectful, afterall it's your choice - but IMO you are mad - all you will be doing is be paying money to ruin a good guitar, when you could just use the money buy another one...and have two, yes TWO good guitars instead of one mangled piece of...
Large guage D'addario strings are double wound - there is about 6" of just the inner winding at the machine head end that allows it to go through the tuner...
Funny, but I find playing an 8 string has seriously improved my left hand position and technique - I had managed to pick up lots of bad habits on a 6 that I have now been forced to unlearn. Now when I pick up a 6 it feels like a toy lol..
I use all the strings as I have always been primarily a...
The locking nut screws are just M4 socket head cap screws - you don't have to go to ibanez to get longer ones, they are a readily available item widely used in industry...
Have to agree with these guys, having a RG2228A means I don't even have an issue with the pickups and having played floyd rose equipped guitars since forever I get on fine with the bridge too.
Is the RG2228 'worth' the hefty price tag? It's pretty subjective and personal, to me, it was worth...
The 2228 is by far the best production 8 I have played - but I must note being in the uk I haven't tried a carvin...whether the 2228 is worth the money or not could fill many many pages of a very long thread but I dearly love my rg2228a - it feels, plays, looks and sounds amazing and I feel it...
